hi looking to buy a new trailer and have been looking at the new ifor williams hb511 it would be for a 16.2hh and a 17hh ,has anyone bought one and if so what do you think of them ie do they seem stable on the road ect thanks
I have only used it twice so far but it seems really good. Charlie is quite nervous about traveling but the trailer is so light and airy that it really helps!
The only problem I had when I first got it was that the Jockey door didn't shut properly, it needed slamming which I wasn't happy about for obvious reasons, I got in touch with the supplier I got it from and they came out and fixed it so it is now fine.
As for how stable it is I can't really comment as I don't tow it, my step dad does and its my first trailer so he doesn't have anything to compare it to. Step Dad says he can't even feel it on the back though so that must be a good sign!
thanks for the reply, thats one of the reasons im thinking about getting one i looked at one at a county show and it seems really light and airy,my big horse is a little nervous so i think this trailer will be best thanks
I went for the 511 as I needed the extra space for my BIG boy. Have done about 10 trips in it so far - one long one with 17 hh stallion on board with lots of uphill/downhill/bendy bits; a few shorter ones with two youngsters aboard (having their first ever trailer ride); mare and foal; 2 weanlings - first trip etc. Trailer performed very well - easy to load 1st timers as it's so light & airy; easy to remove partitions and replace with single full-width bars when travelling babies.
