has anyone seen the rug thats just come out that you can make bigger and smaller with zips, looks a good idea but are they waterproof.
look atwww.tailorednags.com/buy-ziprz-turnout-rug.php
would love some feedback

my concerns

waterproofness?
strength of the zip?
Is there anything to stop the zip becoming half undone, and hence half a bit of rug hanging down as a hazard?
Ease of use of zip when it is absolutely caked in mud
basically introducing a weak point in the rug which is giong to be pain to replace.

I couldn't see the logic in it really, surely if you have 2 horses that are different sizes, they will each need their own rugs anyway?

They can't all wear it at once! You wouldn't want to be constantly zipping and unzipping anyway, it would drive anyone nuts. unless you had it as a spare rug to share between a few horses for when their own are broken/off at cleaners etc.

My FAL Goliath Ultimate has a zip on/off neck & I virtually *never* zip it off because even tho FALs are supersturdy & v well made, it's virtually impossible to zip the hood back on. It sounds the easiest thing in the world to quickly zip the neck on, but it's the same as studs... there's always something that doesn't want to align properly.

When Catembi was alive, I once threw the whole rug at the wall in a temper because I needed to get to work but I could *NOT* get the thing to zip up. If I want a rug without a neck, I use the other one rather than messing about with zips.

Can't see it being a feasible design TBH.

Strange idea - why would you need to make a rug longer or shorter? I'd love to see what Deborah Meadon would have to say about that one in Dragon's Den!

I bought one for my fast growing foal.
I sent it back when it came and the burgundy rug had black middle panels. After an argument I got the purchase price refunded but am still waiting for my return carriage as agreed as it was not my fault the listing was inaccurate. They have since changed their website.

The quality and zips seemed good and being able to split a large rug means they can fit in a washing machine. A good idea for growing horses or as a shared spare perhaps.

The Ziprz Rug: For those that have not seen or understand
Not sales but just the facts
•FIRSTLY IT IS FULLY WATERPROOF & NO THE ZIPS ARE NOT EXPOSED TO ELEMENTS NOR THE HORSE
•Made from quality 1200d Rip stop material with totally flexible, non perishable zips
•The patent design came into being mainly to save the customer money. But also to offer great flexibility both to seller & customer
• Its fits up to four sizes with standard free panel kit & 5 sizes optional so those with growing youngsters need to buy far less rugs
•Its washable up to 8 times before reproofing required, separates and fits into standard washing machine
•Horse breeders or sanctuaries can benefit from flexibility as there horses change
•Rug sellers no longer have to worry about stocking 20+ size when five will do thus cutting back majorly on outlay required
•Change from a standard rug to neck combo buying with one panel at fraction of cost of buying new combo rug
•Replace a single panel rather than whole rug if have rug thrasher

it makes sense

Hi just found this review site YES I BOUGHT TWO!!!
They are great NO LEAKS even in this weather the zips dont get muddy or damaged because they are covered and dont rub. I bought them for my youngsters and have had to change sizes already. Saved me a fortune.
