Oh, and before anyone wonders, I would extend the same offer of help to anyone interested in startigng endurance: male, female or undecided
Us endurance folk are a friendly lot who are passionate about our unique sport. It can sometimes be quite daunting to get into as its deemed to be quite 'niche' and there are a lot of misconceptions (no, you don't need an arab. No, you don't have to use plastic, brightly coloured tack. No, you don't have to wear skin tight lycra riding tights.
Endurance riding is something that really appeals to me but I have a heavy weight Welsh Sect D so I assume it is out for me? I to have always thought of Arabs or Arabx as the only viable option for endurance.
Celt - one of my closest friends competes on her MW cobs. Both have done up to 50km and would easily manage 65km. THhy may not have the speed of the arabs and need careful management in the heat but otherwise they do really well.
My PBA is part welsh sec C and she did 120km ERs and FEI 1* with some great results before retiring from longer rides.
