I think it looks interesting.
I like one to attach to a head collar rather than a stand alone as my pony always removes them within seconds.
Maybe chunkier than my FF I currently use. So will need slightly longer grass.
Looks fairly airy. Nicer price. I may give one a try.

I was thinking about getting one of these also, the velcro on my current one needs replacing every year which is getting a bit annoying.

Looks interesting, only in pony and cob though and looks like it sits low on the nose, if it’s low my mare will just pull the noseband down and have it hanging under her chin but she’s very good at getting out of muzzles (even the vets were impressed 🤣)
Yes I do have to make an adaptation! We have an upside down Y of baler twine that attaches both sides of the noseband and up between his ears, otherwise as soon as i take the rope off he does a speed sprint with the tront on the muzzle on the floor and flips it over his nose and proceeds to graze happily :)

Mine would push it to one side and eat out of those big side holes, I think. It doesn't look very deep.

Maybe, One of mine did that with his FF muzzel but he didnt need severe restricion so i figured it was still doing the job (for him)

If people start buying multiple matchy matchy muzzles I will lose it

Humbug... ;) They come in black.

It would be nice to see the size and shape of the hole. It doesn't look at adjustable as the Thinline - although I have to say that it drove me mad trying to fit that as there are so many options.

Same to both above!
No photos of the hole, no where near as adjustable but I feel like my current FF has an always a bit off and I’m thinking more as an alternate rather than to replace. I am very happy with the Flexible fillies, thy are just so ££ and fiddly I find.

I hope they will be stocked locally to go look at one.

The ff puts me off price-wise. They were absolutely worth it when they came out but the quality has really dropped to the point I'm having to replace annually which I suppose isn't that big an expense, but I still have his very first one which is going strong! I cut the hole in it bigger initially so only use it in colder months or it would still be in use.

I think the only place I'll see them is at big shows. Or maybe I'll just take a punt and order! They only do pony & cob sizes too, my native x cob has quite a chubby schnoz and usually takes a full size for comfort.

If you want an attaching type, have a look at LiteBite, it’s less chunky and more flexible than lemieux looks to be, and has lasted well with one of my mares
If going for ‘standalone’, fit a head collar first, then wind the muzzle headpiece through the crown of the head collar. Also, always go for the largest size you can, so there’s lots of height up the face (less able to drag down), and plenty of room / air flow. Definitely started growing again….

Oh really, I’m glad you said that. I still have my original (one leaf missing but does the job) and one that I bought very early on second hand (bigger hole made) and they have lasted so well. They are too expensive to buy if they are no longer as durable.

Has anyone bought one yet?

I’ve just seen these on instagram, there’s a video of a horse trying to remove one but I can’t see how magnets would hold it on?

you can get super strong magnets, but I cant see any teeny magnet holding up to a determined pony but maybe I'm wrong. They do offer a reasonable warranty.

What’s Covered

Our warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship under normal use for a period of 6 months.

After 6 months, a repair service is available for rivets and magnet loss under normal use for a further 6 months, free of charge (excluding postage).

We offer a 30-day comfort guarantee against rubbing or discomfort, assuming the fit is correct.

We will exchange the muzzle for a different size free of charge, provided your horse or pony has not grazed while wearing the product (please refer to the sizing guide for instructions).

What’s Not Covered

The warranty does not apply to damage caused by:

  • Bite or chew marks
  • Excessive force or misuse
  • Accidents or improper fitting
  • Environmental wear (fencing, rough terrain, herd interaction, etc.)
  • Normal wear and tear over time

Because horses live in active and unpredictable environments, certain types of damage are beyond our control.

Hmmm. How strong are the magnets? Don't they also have therapeutic uses so how does that work. Not sure I want super strong magnets near my horse's mouths 24/7.
Looks like a FF to me bar the fixing. Do like the sizing and colours though!

Over ten years ago, I used to use a Tough 1 Easy Breathe, imported from USA. Came with its own headcollar, left the nostrils completely uncovered, and was tolerated very well. Each one lasted around three summers before the muzzle bit split. I would definitely use one again if the need arose.

Not bought or seen in real life still but there was a thread about them on a laminitis page on FB which was interesting. Someone asked if they were hard and ridged or soft and got both replies 😄
There was photo's of one being used and worn thought and showing the hole size. I'd been interested in seeing one on a horse as Le Liuex don't seem to have any images of one being worn and I thought they looked a bit shallow, they look great on though. Not too shallow (thinking easy to flip over or under nose!) and the lady who had posted the photo's was very pleased with it.

I bought one and after watching her try to graze with it for about 20 minutes, took it off and put her old FF back on. It's partly an issue specific to her as she's developed a habit/knack of eating through the side of the FF and couldn't with the LM, but also it is a bit heavy, disproportionately so her as she's a very dainty Sec A.

Having written all that I've just remembered that I was going to try it on my other one, who's a lot chunkier and hasn't got the side-grazing habit yet! Or I'll sell it. (blue/pony if anyone is interested)

I do keep meaning to try the magnet one though. My biggest issue with the FF is that it gets so filthy - like half an inch deep mud - after just a day, and cleaning it whilst still attached to the headcollar is a faff, but taking it off the headcollar to clean it means my arthritic hands faffing with cable ties on a daily basis, and frequently ends in tears. If I could just pull the magnets apart and push them back together after cleaning, my days would be far less teary...

Ah, yes - I'd forgotten - I found the straps on the LeMieux very difficult to fasten, especially with freezing cold, arthritic hands...

If you Google dental issues with greenguard muzzles, there used to be quite a gallery of damaged incisor teeth. Not something I would use, personally.
Agree, that's why I don't use one.

Well Its just arrived. It does seem very flexible and bendy. The hole for eating I thought on first impression looked better placed for more natural grazing then the usual bang in the middle, Its off set to the lower side so I *think (whilst sat on my sofa!) that should be good.

I did just undo and found them fairly difficult, however i suppose once its done its done and I found the FF muzzles a real pita to adjust!

I quite like that its thinner than the old bucket types so can be used on shorter grass, mine has to be muzzled on any grass at all, although i rarely have much so that's ideal for me.
I'll try it out later!

Are green guard muzzles any good? I've seen a coupon Vinted.
^^^ I had one for one of my old boys who had to be restricted. It was a bit of a faff to fit, and you really did need the special headcollar which went with it, which wasn't cheap back then and certainly isn't now!

I recall seeing some research which indicated that these particular "Greenguard" muzzles were causing dental damage to horses. Sorry can't remember where this came from. I wouldn't use one for this reason personally. They were also causing blisters to lips. Am VERY interested in the Noma muzzle the OP has shown in the pic; my only issue is if the fastening straps break, then you've got nothing left to hold it on with. I have a FF one which is basically a very expensive piece of plastic, and find that whilst it does the job, when it came I really wasn't too impressed TBH at having to faff around with cable ties to get it to fit, which was a nightmare. For the price of the item I would have expected some decent fixing straps. Plus you really need a "Greenguard-style" headcollar with a strap down the central line from the poll to the noseband, to stop it slipping down. Luckily I managed to get one such headcollar secondhand, but for an already expensive item, the special headcollar you'd need (at new price) would mean you probably wouldn't get much change for £100 for the whole set-up.

I am not sure about the magnet-fixings on the other grazing muzzle; I don't think they would survive the Greedy Coblet's efforts to get the thing off! I wouldn't be confident TBH.......

Have a good mind to order one of the Noma ones; they seem cheap and cheerful at least, hope the quality wouldn't disappoint at that price tho.
