I got a pay rise so I thought today I'd do a bit of horsey shopping in Malton. I was looking for some new everyday riding/mud paddling boots for me as my bargain £25 derby house long leather boots are giving up the ghost after 2 years of daily riding and a new zip.
I looked at the Dublin rivers (I think) as they look identical to the ones I currently have, but they were £99. So I saw some Toggi Calgary boots and they were identical at £80. I saw various other similar shoddy quality ones for similar prices. I am sure I never paid that much for everyday boots before!!! Finally I tried on some Mountain Horse High Rider II which at £145 seem TONS better quality for not that much more money.
So would people recommend splashing out on Mountain Horse ones?

Incidentally, I couldn't believe Hunters are now £60 and Muck Boots the same.
I thought we were in a recession and there were bargains galore to be had?

I have Mountain Horse High Riders II the brown ones. Would recommend the black ones though as the brown changes colour when wet and are hard to find a colour match in polish. However, they're great. I've had mine since march and scrub up as good as knew. They're warm, and after a while they really soften for your riding position, unlike some leather boots which don't allow any ankle movement at all.

Would really recommend these boots!
