I got my first cleg bites about 10 days ago, all over my backside. I may have mentioned it in the good morning thread at the time.

My horsefly traps also have a collection of said creatures floating in them. The more they can catch the less there will be later. This will be the third year of the traps and there were a lot less of them about last year, coincidence?

Oh no! Feel so sorry for you guys. I got bit a few times a couple of years ago for the first time while visiting an island. They hurt quite a bit for a bite. Fortunately (touch wood) they aren’t overly common up here or I’m not a prime target. Hope your zebra stripes keep them at bay.
Do you get midges where you are? If not, im moving over!! 😂

Riders in front of me on yesterday’s fun ride were complaining about the horse flies. I hadn’t seen any this year.
Back at the ‘box washing F off and he had 3 land in him while he was wet. None when he had dried. He is grey, white, though.
I know others have seen them at the yard.
Forewarned is forearmed, Fly spray and head and nose net in the car ready for next yard visit.

On my hack today they were everywhere 😭. I got two bites on my arms and the pony got a lot of bites though I swatted quite a few.
