Yesterday saw us end our season at Norton, never been before as i was balloted out at the start of the season so was excited to finally get there! I used the same tactic in the dressage, riding on a longer rein to put him into a lower outline, it seemed to pay off as we had an improved score of 35.8! Clever pony!!
Quick tack change and straight to SJ.... didn't fancy hanging about the wind was cold! The course looked ok, turn to the double at 7 looked tight but otherwise it looked alright..... Well the turn to 7 was tight and i royally buried the poor lad so we had the first part down! Just the 4 to add so 39.8 into XC! The XC looked a nice course it was very very skinny happy, with a big wide skinny table at 5, a skinny log to a skinny ball finch at 7, a double of steps up a mound to run downhill to yet another skinny, a skinny of barrels before the water..... you get the picture!! A few of the skinnies had alternatives but i opted to take the direct routes and see what happened.... He flew round for a clear inside the time little legend! The sections were very hot so i ended up 19th on 39.8! the top 10 were all sub 34 scores! Need to nail the dressage over winter but i couldn't have asked for better way to end our fairly epic season!
We have traveled across the country this year covering some 9 counties, we wobbled our way round our first few 80s to finish with flying round double clear at 90! I am so proud of my little horse and what he has achieved we have even picked up some top 10 placings along the way, and finishing no worse than 20th all season. He has not had worse than 1 down at 90 and not picked up any XC faults at 90, honestly to say im proud is an understatement, i've had so much fun producing this little guy and i cant wait to see what next season has in store for us! For now the superstar can enjoy a holiday before we kick start the training for next year!
Thank you to all of those who have followed my adventures will look forward to filling in you next season!
