My rising 3 year old gelding has strange nose bleeds, no vets seem to know what it is and have suggested retirement for him as no-body knows if he will get better or worse as this has not been seen before. He has even been down to the RVC in London and has had loads of tests done (inc scopes, lung biopsy, lung and heart x-rays and scans, exercised with ECG, and blood and urine tests), but no conclusive results apart from the fact that the blood is definately coming from the lungs.
I've been doing lots of research and have come across equiwinner, just wondered if anyone has any knowledge of whether this works or not? (I know that even if it works for some horses it may not work for him as he is something of a 'special' case)
It seems such a shame to just put him in a field for the rest of his life and not even try something to help him get better, he has the most beautiful movement and I really would love to be able to ride him one day!
