Very pleased with my little mare today, we had our first ever hack out alone and she was really good. Didn't have a single backwards thought, had a couple of moments of anxiety (due to flapping pigeons, they all need shooting!) but just did a little dance and then calmed down again. bodes well for being brave xc, i hope!
I know it's not much compared to the dizzy heights some people are reaching with their 4 yr olds, but she was a late foal, she's not huge, i'm quite big, lots of other excuses, so i'm taking her nice and slowly! Also, she bucks on the lunge and in the field like no horse I have ever seen outside of a rodeo (no exaggeration here) so I have been very keen not to awaken the "let's get rid of mum" dragon, cos no WAY could i stay on if she started!
so, very
with my girl.
