what about the poor evaluators and the vet!!!! oh and Jan and the rest of the people that make the day go as smoothly as possible!!!
At least you will be over and done with and able to get home and get your feet up a bit sooner and hopefully miss the traffic!!
this is just part of the course.
Everyone who has any role to play in helping to ensure the smooth running of a Futurity venue, from Jan, Edith, the evaluators, stewards & helpers arrive before the first entry to set up & are the last to leave for thier respective journeys home
If there is stabling available you could travel down the night before.
I know, it's all part of competing!! sorry evaluating!!
Don't get me wrong I'm not having a go. I haven't looked at all the times yet but I imagine if they are having to start so early that they won't be finishing til late.
Thought about staying over, but with having a yard full to do at home myself first I think I'll be going with getting up at 3am to get all the jobs done to leave at 5.
And as you say I'll be home early enough that I can then still do a full days work then!!!
I am in at 9.24 with my foal. Getting a bit worried now as she hasn't been led for a couple of months. they are are out with other mares and foals and it is impossible to extract them from the herd on your own. It will have to be last minute practice on Monday at this rate.
So if you see a foal misbehaving on Tuesday it'll most likely be us.
