Well, I was just wondering if anyone had read anything they really liked and I thought I would see if she liked them - she hasn't read anything in a while so I am not 100% sure but nothing really gruesome!

You might have more luck posting in the Soapbox, some people in there don't come into the New Lounge but they may have some good ideas.

Personally, they're a bit last year but I love Khaled Hossieni's A Thousand Splendid Suns and I keep meaning to read The Kite Riders (same author) and in a similar vein, I love Half of a Yellow Sun by Chimamanda Ngozi Adiche (I THINK I've spelt that right...

).

I really enjoyed 'We Need to Talk About Kevin' recently. Great book, very moving and poignant but not a difficult read

Thanks, will look into some of them. We just bought my other sister the whole Twilight series and I have read them all through and started re-reading them, love them. I am sure my other sis will get round to reading them, I must recommend them to her - shes seen the films - typical.
