Has anyone ever tried using 'human' clippers on their horse??

Only asking as my friend does his own pretty thick Afro hair with clippers - and I'm sure if they do his hair so well they might work on my horses legs, which just need trimming!!!

And they cost about £200 less!

Try it I have men's trimmers for the ponies faces! Much quieter and less vibrations. They cost me £6 out the £stretcher type shop and have done 6 faces all winter. I trimmed his feathers but his big hairy legs are far too thick.

If you've got a hairy bear of a horse to clip, they might not cope with it - just thinking how much cleaner (most:p) human heads are compared to horse legs for example - more lightweight clippers might not appreciate the added grease/dirt etc.

When I bought my little one she freaked out at my big clippers, so I bought a set of cordless mens hair clippers for about £15 from Boots. I fully clipped her over the course of 2 days (they needed re-charging!) and touched her up - legs, face, cathairs - for the whole season before the blades died! I guess I could have had them sharpened as they were snap on's, but my OH bought me a set of Liveryman Harmony's in the winter sales so I didnt need anything else.
They did a lovely job, but she is a welsh b show pony, and has a really silky coat. Loads of it, but thhair is really fine and soft.
Dont know if that would help you or not!! x
