Manchesters are either doberman puppies or less commonly minpins. Very rarely does anyone get the ID correct
I did ID two in a cafe in 2020 and the folks were delighted. Probably your breeding

I often get asked how old my dog is, she’s 8. People assume she’s a puppy because she’s small for her breed (GSD).
I got similar when a young girl asked me if my whippet was a Daschund. I think she was just proud that she know that a Daschund was a breed even if she'd clearly never seen one.I got asked if Winnie was a sausage dog once she is a JRT, I know she has short legs but she looks nothing like a Sausage dog.![]()
Someone mistook my setter for a lion recently. Bizarre

No one ever knows what my dog is (a phalene) because to be fair, there’s not a lot of them about. I just say papillon for simplicity. We get cavalier, cocker spaniel or chihuahua generally.

Dane owners have a list of questions and jokes they get asked all the time, my OH joked he might get a t shirt printed with the answers on - no, he doesn't need much walking, no he doesn't need a huge amount of space etc etc...and then "you could put a saddle on that" thinking they're the first person in the world to say it. And of course the ultimate irony for me...it's lost on them if tell them my profession.

and dad was the neighbours black Lab. My dad was out walking and met a lady who had Flat Coats and she insisted that Sumac was a Flatcoat and got quite angry with my dad when he said she wasn't. In the end he had to give in and say yes i'm sure you're right she is a Flat coat!
