Ok I'll try and keep it short - I need to go to Mothers for some TLC!!
Dressage - trot work ok, but kind of lost it in the canter. I guessed 38, I got 38.5
God I am getting good at this guessing malarkey
SJ - warmed up ok, got in a bit deep to the first two practice fences which was just the kick I needed to remember to actually ride the beast!!
So I did
and she jumped supurb. In the ring she jumped 1 - 4 super, if a little deep to fence 3, but fence 5 she got in deep and ballooned over! Leaving me somewhere in the stratosphere
And after an expletive (another word for poo?) I circled and represented to the double at 6. Had 7 down and jumped 8 ok, so 8 jumping faults plus 3 time faults - 11.
XC - perfect amount of buzziness from the otherwise idle Charisma. Pretty much spot on over everything, we do need to work on our style though
Down the 3 (steep, well they were to me!) steps, then the first big ask!! Sunken road, then off down a bank, then to a skinny house about 4/5 strides (hmm didn't really seem to sit on any!) straight on, but to the left????? I swear I saw this sort of thing at Nutwell Court last month in the Novice? Who knows, maybe I'm making excuses! FYI I was doing 2ft9 Unaff!
Well went through the sunken road great, then off the bank then I think I forgot how to ride her
so she stopped, but did it on the 2nd time. Oh well.
Next was the lake - perfect, then another skinny - spot on, coffin - wonderful, then a wall which was bigger on landing. She was a bit 'eh?' but jumped it and I flew through the air with the greates of ease
At the silly little drop on the other side. Log - spectaular, then hooned up the hill to the..
..DREADED flower pots which we'd been E'd at twice this year!! Well.....she didn't even bat an eyelid!!!! She flew it, I was so
and I imagine the people walking next to us were like "what is she on, I'lll have what she's having!"
Trackener - she did have a look, but jumped it albeit a bit awkward. Next a corner, not actually built onto anthing just in the middle of the field, so quite skinny. This was 14/16 fences.
She took me right to it, no hesitation, I was so happy. Hmm except she left a leg, kind of twisted on landing and I hit the deck
Hard, I might add!! I let go of her
got up, grabbed my hip ("My hip, my hip!!") it was so painful. Got to C and asked her owner to walk her round while I filled in form with the ambulance man (where was my ice or bag of peas?!
)
I was gutted - plus C hurt herself. She's not lame or hot but just above her boot she must have got herself on the fence, it's a hole quite deep (not gushing or anything, but may take a while to heal!) I hibbiscrubed it and she can have a good few days off while I nurse her back to full health
(While I, hobble around like a granny! ("My hip, my hip!!!") My arm is also gashed, my hip swollen and my arm and shoulder a little sore but not too bad.
Anyway I've got a new attitude where I am not taking these things too seriously, as it has ruined my enjoyment of the day in the past. I had a fabulous day, Charisma jumped better then she ever has done before, she really took it all on, but I think I maybe need to get her a little fitter
Thanks for reading - pro pics will be up soon
