Ok I'll try and keep it short - I need to go to Mothers for some TLC!! :)

Dressage - trot work ok, but kind of lost it in the canter. I guessed 38, I got 38.5 :D God I am getting good at this guessing malarkey

SJ - warmed up ok, got in a bit deep to the first two practice fences which was just the kick I needed to remember to actually ride the beast!! :) So I did :p and she jumped supurb. In the ring she jumped 1 - 4 super, if a little deep to fence 3, but fence 5 she got in deep and ballooned over! Leaving me somewhere in the stratosphere :D And after an expletive (another word for poo?) I circled and represented to the double at 6. Had 7 down and jumped 8 ok, so 8 jumping faults plus 3 time faults - 11.

XC - perfect amount of buzziness from the otherwise idle Charisma. Pretty much spot on over everything, we do need to work on our style though :p Down the 3 (steep, well they were to me!) steps, then the first big ask!! Sunken road, then off down a bank, then to a skinny house about 4/5 strides (hmm didn't really seem to sit on any!) straight on, but to the left????? I swear I saw this sort of thing at Nutwell Court last month in the Novice? Who knows, maybe I'm making excuses! FYI I was doing 2ft9 Unaff!

Well went through the sunken road great, then off the bank then I think I forgot how to ride her  so she stopped, but did it on the 2nd time. Oh well.

Next was the lake - perfect, then another skinny - spot on, coffin - wonderful, then a wall which was bigger on landing. She was a bit 'eh?' but jumped it and I flew through the air with the greates of ease :D At the silly little drop on the other side. Log - spectaular, then hooned up the hill to the..

..DREADED flower pots which we'd been E'd at twice this year!! Well.....she didn't even bat an eyelid!!!! She flew it, I was so :D :D :D and I imagine the people walking next to us were like "what is she on, I'lll have what she's having!" :D

Trackener - she did have a look, but jumped it albeit a bit awkward. Next a corner, not actually built onto anthing just in the middle of the field, so quite skinny. This was 14/16 fences.

She took me right to it, no hesitation, I was so happy. Hmm except she left a leg, kind of twisted on landing and I hit the deck :( Hard, I might add!! I let go of her :( got up, grabbed my hip ("My hip, my hip!!") it was so painful. Got to C and asked her owner to walk her round while I filled in form with the ambulance man (where was my ice or bag of peas?! :( )

I was gutted - plus C hurt herself. She's not lame or hot but just above her boot she must have got herself on the fence, it's a hole quite deep (not gushing or anything, but may take a while to heal!) I hibbiscrubed it and she can have a good few days off while I nurse her back to full health :D :D (While I, hobble around like a granny! ("My hip, my hip!!!") My arm is also gashed, my hip swollen and my arm and shoulder a little sore but not too bad.

Anyway I've got a new attitude where I am not taking these things too seriously, as it has ruined my enjoyment of the day in the past. I had a fabulous day, Charisma jumped better then she ever has done before, she really took it all on, but I think I maybe need to get her a little fitter

Thanks for reading - pro pics will be up soon :p

Oops! Still congrats on the positive attitude!! I'm miss bloody miserable unless everything is perfect, which is not fair on my horse and does my riding no good. SO I want to be more like you!
That sounds a tough course for an unaff so well done! Sounds like you had got all the hard stuff out the way which is brill :). X

Well I went into work last night in a ****** mood because of the flower pots!! She was like "Why do you care so much? You work Monday to Friday and PAY to do this for fun! So do it for fun!" And I tell you what I feel so much better for it now :p I just wish I could have finished the course, we had two left!

Next we have an ODE on the 28th, but I might get some xc practice in before then leg (and hip :p ) depending. I'll want to get her over the corner nicely, in case she's knocked her confidence :( Although I don't think it will, I mean we've been wound up over those flower post for months and she didn't even look twice today! :D :D

All I can say is, thank god the corner was properly steaked in! :o

Oh AND I need some new breeches because my zip keeps coming undone! I don't *think* I've put on weight :o and everytime I ride I can feel a draught and everyone can see my polka dot pants. Highly embaressing!! :o

HA HA HA!!! I've just got some new beige jods because I had a pair of fashionable low rise hipster ones which are pretty darn useless at keeping my shirt tucked in and ummmm sort of slip down at the back when I bend over a fence :p :o. HA at least I wear white pants though! Lol

I'm sure C will be OK, I think horses tend to live in the moment and if we can let go of a bad experience and move on they do too. Maybe practice some corners made out of showjumps in the school if your worried?

Yes thank goodness it was a fixed fence, that would have been awful otherwise. Hope leg and hip heal quickly! :D

Yes you are right, she's not thinking about it now she's having a nice evening with her friends :) After all, she did jump it, she's must have thought what the hell was I doing all the way back there?! Haha I think corners over some coloured poles is a good idea :D

Oh the joys of eventing. You'll be just fine next time with that attitude - hope neither of you is too sore in the morning :).

Ahh no thats such bad luck!!!!

But well done you for going for the 2'9!!!

Well my day was just as bad I didnt even make the XC!! haha!!

She wasnt in the best of moods all morning and didnt feel quite right, was a right head case in the dressage but then in the actual test was awesome and got 40% which I was a little dissapointed with until I saw everyone elses scores, and then it was alright! She was horrible in the warm up sticky as hell and ended up getting E'd in the SJ normally her best phase!! :( there must be something niggling as she never stops SJ, so back lady coming this week :(

Where you going on the 28th?? XX

Oh that's rubbish Steph :( At least if you've got the back woman coming out to have a look you can see if anything has been twinged and giving her some jip!

28th is Porloe ODE near Falmouth, but I might forgo that for Ladock on the 3rd September. I'll only be doing the 2'6 there, I've heard any courses over that is huge :D

Ye in a way im hoping it is her back then at least that explains it!!

I thought Porloe was on the 24th of Sept?? I was planning on giving that one a go!

Ye Ladock is a big track I always think that with ladock if your doing 2'3 its actually 2'6 and so on!! Im aways for both the ODE and HT but storms not ready for that or fit enough! haha!

Hows the hip today?? XX

It's looking a bit purple today! It was annoying to sleep on because I am a t o s s e r :p but I could only sleep on the one side because on my right it hurt too much. Deary me :)

Oh bugger, it is the 24th September! :D I was looking at the 2010 entry form....oh my god :o Hehe

I was thinking of doing one of the two at Ladock, but can't decide which yet!

Are you heading off anywhere before then? (Storm depending!)

Haha good job I looked then!! haha!!

Ye weve got the final of the Cornwall Trec dressage on wed so im hoping she goes as well as shes did yesterday!

Then depending on her back we may do the TWRC show on the 28th, but then just practice practice practice until Porloe!! xx

Ouch! That sounds painful!! Hope both of you are quickly mended. :)

Glad you have taken the positives from the day though, and sounds like it was going brilliantly up to that point!

Hip sounds avery painful, hope you are feeling better soon! Well done on the rest of the day though, it sounds like you were having a really good time until the accident and accidents will unfortunately happen.

It may be nothing, but you should get your hip x-rayed. Many moons ago I fell on my hip and ended up with a hairline fracture of my pelvis. Then a couple of years or so ago I then fell off and landed funny and ended up in A & E where I was diagnosed as having a compression strain of the pelvis. both extreamly painful, but I was on crutches for both.

Eeek, that does sound painful! :o

I'm purple and can't really bend because it's swollen, but it's better if I walk around. Thing is I'm sat at a desk all day so that doesn't help!
