I work in a dog friendly environment so we all bring our dogs daily. People don't understand why I don't run out to meet the new ones!

I don't understand why you would? I like dogs... just my own dogs not somebody else's.

I do enjoy admiring dogs from a distance, and watching dogs work, i do become abit of a dog fan then pointing them out while on peg with my Husband.
I like hearing about peoples dogs, and yes I love watching them work. But hugging Fluffylumpkins just because is not for me.

I loved Mika and Flyn's puppyhood they were such smart, cocky little pups and I do like meeting other people's pups.

I didn't have the enjoyment of Bandit's puppyhood because he was 7 months old when I got him and by that time I'd missed out on cute puppy and gone straight into delinquent doglet.

I love meeting new dogs but I have got a t shirt what says just because I like your dog doesn't mean I like you, I suppose I'm more of a dog lover than a people lover.

I also like kittens.

I once tried explaining to a friend who kept offering me her horse to ride that I’m sure he was lovely but I just had no interest in riding someone else’s horse, I then followed it up (stupidly it turns out) with, it’s like your dog, you love walking it but I certainly wouldn’t want too…. 🤦‍♀️ balls, I knew what I meant but the offence was already made….

I do like seeing photos but just a few!

Everyone thinks that puppy intro grooms must be the best part of my job. The reality is that groomers hate grooming pups, they are a nightmare.

I do love puppies, but I far prefer kittens!

Uhm, I have to ask, is it possible that you don't do introduce your kitten to grooming sessions? Because if you do introduce to grooming sessions for both puppies, and kittens, and still far prefer kittens, I have to admit that I'm a bit surprised.

I once got pulled into a meeting with HR for telling a colleague that her baby scan photo looked like lasagne, so I completely get it.
I also think bringing your baby in to meet the team should be a criminal offence.
I mean......I work in HR and would be likely to say something similar 🤣

I’d be amazed all round at people sending kittens to groomers
Although I know long haired breeds need brushing I guess

Some cat breeds on both ends of the scale, like a very hairy Persian cat, and a very not hairy Sphynx cat, both need baths in different intervals (according to what I've read, the hairless Sphynx actually needs it much more regularly than a Persian). Also, some cats regardless of breed does become more immobile as they get old, and stops being able to take care of their neither regions properly, and then you might want to step in and give them a helping bath.
Since some years I prefer to learn all my new kittens that they have to tolerate getting a bath, because it's much easier if they learn that as young in case you do need to give them a bath as adults.

And here's 3 other situations which can lead to cat baths

I once contemplated cat grooming and then looked up some of the equipment needed to safely do this and decided I valued my eyeballs too much! 😅

You can make a fortune cat grooming because there’s so few people offering it. I do trim cat nails if requested, but I don’t fancy bathing one!

Well, I’ll out myself here clodagh to make you look better.

With the exception of one, I’m not a particularly fond of anyone else’s dogs (and every relative and friend has a least a few) and generally find them really irritating and in the main, obnoxious and overindulged. I am very fond of my in laws remaining dog, even though he is exceptionally poorly trained - he just has a fabulous and really sweet temperament.

I do however really love mine, even though most sane people would have shot one of them.

I love my dog. I’m pretty fond of some of MrStR’s dogs too, and some of those at agility really appeal but puppies are just wayward shit monsters! They’re cute but by the time they’ve walked through a wet poo and scrabbled at your knees that is definitely enough!
When I picked my last spaniel pup they were tramping through poo - I never picked him up just chose the one who watched me all the time!!

I'm with you. My hairdresser constantly sends me videos and pics of GSDs, dogs up for rescue, viral things that about 20 other people have already sent me. I love her to bits but I see enough of them, really, I do.
And all German Shepherd puppies are cute. Never seen an ugly one yet. No need to keep showing me 🤣

There was a fella a while back who kept sending me videos and podcasts thinking he was being 'helpful' and 'educational' and that he was telling me things I didn't know.
I was like yep, ta....been going to their seminars for years...wow, cheers, got pissed with that guy a few times...Oh him? Yes we WhatsApp each other stupid memes on a weekly basis, if I want his advice I'LL JUST ASK HIM DIRECTLY.
