You haven't asked but I thought I'd show you anyway - a few pics of my new pony
smile.gif
Thought he was called Paddy but when I finally got sight of his passport turns out he's Joe
smile.gif
4yo Irish, by a TB ex a Cavalier Royale mare

smile.gif
Skinny, no doubt worm-ridden and currently not quite sound but SOOO cute
wink.gif
Been sat on once... No CC thanks, I'm perfectly happy to keep my rose-tinted specs on

Thanks Jules and FB - I rather like him too
smile.gif
Deskbound, that is how he is - ears pricked ALL the time, either in slight worry, interest or friendliness, depending on the moment
grin.gif
And KatB, well you can't have everything now can you?!

Have commented on FB but he looks very sweet. Not horrendously skinny - just a bit weak/babyish looking. Nothing a little TLC wont sort out pretty quick.

Looking forward to progress reports & pics. Have fun

Now that would be greedy
wink.gif
Seriously he sounds fab, I look forward to before and after pics...
wink.gif

Four legs would be greedy now wouldn't it? I can tell which one the false one is - it's the back one he's got knuckled over
smirk.gif
.

Good luck. I want to see you on him now (scale and all that!).

Chloe - I agree, and dependable is what we all need in a man, isn't it?
wink.gif

k_o and nic thanks
smile.gif

l_p_p import yard near Reading renowned more for their prices than their, er, attention to detail
wink.gif
Straight enough to deal with though
smile.gif

Joss, thanks, TLC is first order of the day - he is actually pretty poor and ribby under that coat
frown.gif
Better get riding him before he gets any stronger
crazy.gif

GB, actually it isn't that one
grin.gif
And scale picures will be a bit scary as I'm just realising that he's quite tall
shocked.gif
I'm guessing 16.2 ish...
ISZ I hope you're right
smile.gif

And O_B I KNEW you were going to ask that, had money on it
grin.gif
He's by a horse called Doddington Flyer? Which I don't know. However HIS sire is Distant Relative who even I have heard of
smile.gif
Sire's dam is by Bustino so pretty good lines all round? And, of course, Cavalier Royale's sire is Cor de la Bryere.

Some fab horses have come from there... know a few! Didn't realise that is where he had come from
tongue.gif

ETA just hunted him down on their site, I like alot, really nice stamp, and I bet he will be nice and "butty" when he has filled out a bit.
grin.gif

Ah ha, I know who you got him from! He is very nice and they bring some really quite nice horses up to our yard to compete. I am sure he will be great!

I should have said, when I picked him up I SO nearly came back with another one: rising 3yo grey about 15 hands, SWEET, just backed, £650
shocked.gif
Just about resisted but if anyone is looking for that sort of a project (ie chuck it in the field for a year or so) I would recommend a look I was sorely tempted at that price
crazy.gif
PM me and I'll tell you where to find
wink.gif

Thanks for that
smile.gif
He doesn't appear to have been the fastest thing on four legs
tongue.gif
but is a good looking horse, isn't he? Joe does look like him but also has a lovely Holsteiner front with well set on neck - I also think his mealy nose reminds me of a famous Cavalier son - thought I might email the rider and see if she wants to take him off my hands
grin.gif

Is he an irish horse imports job?
Known a few come through there, always worth a look if you are experienced and want a project. Not for the faint hearted white bandage brigade though!!!

PMSL, that's a good way of putting it
grin.gif

lizzie and saskia thanks - he is cute but I hope there's not TOO much growing to do: I haven't had a stick on him but I reckon rather to my horror he'd be a decent 16.2
crazy.gif
Let's hope he puts his energy into growing into himself rather than upwards
wink.gif
He looks small I think because he's very short-coupled - I don't really do "boats"
wink.gif
Anyway, he isn't a stayer, sadly
frown.gif

And thanks, ElleJS, I thought so too
smile.gif

He's luuuurvely, such a cute expression, almost bemused. At least you've got your very own crash test dummy if he decides to channel his calories into energy to be expended rather than weight gain.
smirk.gif
Oh, and may I say such a good choice of colour.
