Oh come on, its not ROCKET SCIENCE!!

We have a response from the person listing the pelham as part of a double bridle.

"Hi,
Thank you.
I did not know it was that technical - I've never ridden in a double bridle.
Can you tell me the difference OR can you confirm that I can call the bit I've listed a weymouth.
~Thank you"

What a good response! At least that seller is open to learning new things. :)

No, you're not the only one. Although my pet hate is those people who say 'my horse opens its mouth, so I use a flash/grackle/drop noseband' Why don't they realise that the horse opens its mouth because it is uncomfortable in its bit?

Yes, I just hate nosebands that tie the mouth closed. They turn the bit into a torture device.

I think most do realize, they have just decided to solve the problem by using the flash/grackle/drop noseband, which is after all what they are for.

Bitting experts??? Bits are getting too complicated if they've created another opportunity for experts. Bits are covered in any basic horse care, horsemanship manual and any sensible person will read one or two before buying a horse. Anyone who doesn't read up on basic horsemanship before buying a horse needs a good instructor and their head testing, not a bitting expert.
