I've just injured myself... ripped/torn my calf muscle. Heard a massive pop, thats really scarey! (And not a horse in sight!!)
So, if anyone local to me, wants to give Meg 20/30 school once or twice, and take Penny for a walk, then please let me know. They are bored enough as it is with my normally busy schedule and could do with some more 'fun'.

Not trying to be patronising but from a physio have you had it checked and not just self diagnosed? Need to see if has compromised the achilles whihc is more complicated than a simple tear.

After having a major op on my achilies 16 odd years ago, I can almost safely say this is not that!
I only did this a few hours ago, have spoken to a doc, but no-one 'medical' has seen me. I may have to go to get it checked tomorrow, but doc on phone did say there isn't much they can do anyway.

Oh thats good, you are right not a lot they can do but it would change the length of recovery etc but I guess you are fully aware with your past experience
(from one calf tearer to another, OUCH)

Hope you find someone x x

^^^ this - though if you have had an achilles injury previously you will probably recognise it:( Ice ibuprofen and gently mobilise. Surprising sometime how quickly a calf tear injury will heal. Good luck:)

euch! i ripped my abs a couple of years ago (lots of squishy popping:eek:) and the thought of that noise and that feeling goes right through me! Makes me feel physically sick:o I got them lasered though so healed fairly quick, couldnt get on a horse or laugh for ages though!!

Oh dear, can't help you sorry, but i did the same thing a couple of weeks ago chasing cows, :( I went to the doc's and he said rest for three to four days, and then gentle excersise, it has taken about two weeks to feel all better, but i hav'nt tried running after bl00dy cows again since. :D
Mine went POP aswell, weird isn't it!!!

Dr advised heat not ice for mine, was much more comfortable to put my leg up on a hotwater bottle, than a bag of peas. :D

Ouch get well soon! I tore my hamstring a few months ago and couldnt walk properly but had no idea what I had done until I went to the doctors a month or so ago for something different and asked why I suddenly had loads of purple dots on the back of my leg. It all healed up so I couldnt feel it after about 2 months but could walk normally after 1. As you said not much can be done - get well soon!! xx

Still a bit sore this morning! Got to somehow get the kids to school and take the dog out!!
The horses are near shaftesbury for those enquiring. Thanks anyway peeps!!!
