PS Starzaan how do you store 207 rugs?! ... noting to self for future reference ;).

Right...

I use those BIG headcollar hooks to hang the turnouts and heavy stable rugs on, and then I have a ridiculous amount of those plastic zip up bags that rugs come in which I use to store thinner stable rugs, fleeces, Thermatex rugs, and exercise sheets. These are all labelled (name of horse and owner, brief description of rug) and put on a floor to ceiling shelving fandango in my rug room.

The part of the rug room with turnouts hanging in it has those tiny little wall-mounted heaters at about knee height all the way round, so the heat rises up through the rugs and dries them overnight.

I have lost count of all the rugs I own........I'm also a rugaholic :D

Whatever I buy for my 2 it never seems to be enough, there is always another weight or style I feel I desparately need to keep them comfortable..

The worrying thing its now moved on to my dog....he's got 2 waterproof Mastas and one Horseware cooler so far :D

Ahh yeh that makes sense. I got fed up with putting things back in bags hence the boxes, but thought that would be the only way to store so many rugs! The headcollar hook things seems like a good idea- we used it at college now I think about it & it did work well, minus the heaters unfortunately. I use the swinging rug rail things but again guess thats impractical with so many rugs! If I was a livery I would love being based at a yard thats got great rug storage/drying as its one thing many lack IME! :).

Wow....my rug collection pales in comparison to all your lots! The pony only has a lw turnout, and will be gifted with a stable rug this weekend, making that 2 whole rugs for her! The TB isn't muh different, has a lw t/o, a mw t/o, a stable rug, a fleece, and a bib. Poor horse needs more rugs I think....

I am

He has:

2 coolers
2 fleeces (one show one thicker)
A Mark Todd deluxe fleece
3 turn outs (light, middle and heavy weight)
1 quilt
1 summer sheet

He also has 2 neck covers but won't wear them as having things up round his ears make him weird. Yes he is that much of a knobber!

Does mean extra de hairing though!
