and she's a frikkin nutter!!!

She has locked my ponies in a field (the gate is the only way in/out and is now locked and chained, with a car infront of the gate) and refuses to let me have them. Apparently she loves them more than I do. I'm meant to be moving anyway cos she's such a fruitloop and was FEEDING them without my permission. But I was let down on the yard so have been trying to find somewhere else.

I have arranged to go up with friends to get the ponies (big burly men!) but am now without livery :(

If anyone knows of a place in south leics / northants border, it's an emergency. One's a rescue and a bit timid and the others my daughter's beloved....

GOOD LORD!

I think I would let the local Police know what's happened, as they are bound to get a call if your 'heavy lads' manage to release your two, probably claiming that HER horses have been stolen.

Good luck finding somewhere.

I would go round every farmer in the area asking for a field for a few days to rent til you get sorted., I would then take my 'big' mates up with bolt cutters, cut the fence if need be, and get the ponies outta there. Sorry, no messing, if she is that mental I would just want them away.
Have the local tack shops or yellow paper not got ads for livery in them?

Ask the police to attend with you. Do not go and cause criminal damage to her property or you could end up with a record. The police will ask her to release the animals and if she doesn't they will arrange for access.

Be prepared to prove ownership though.

nope menopause (sorry i cant spell) has nothing to do with it sounds like a grumpy old hag to me! sounds like something many crazy yard owners would do

I had to steal two of my horses from a yard with a mad owner so I can sympathise  I thought she was going to set the dog (vicious) on me so I took a couple of big men with me. Let us know how you get on please.

I used to work with several women of a certain age and they were all absolute baggages. I send a little prayer up every night, that when I get touched by the menopausal stick, I don't end up like that. Bring on the HRT:cool:

Definately a crazy YO! I would agree that you should let the police know though, you never know. Then get the hell out of there!!!

it's not a yard as such, i just rent the land from her. She's NUTS. Yep I paid month in advance, and she's wanting extra....

I told her she either lets me take my ponies or I'll have the police involved.

I got a phonecall from the police who said she rolled in "high as a kite" sobbing that she loved them more than I did and she WANTED them. She's been texting threats all afternoon, calling me names, and has even phoned my MUM and screeched at her.

It materialises that shes told all and sundry I havent been up in MONTHS (I have photos from the weekend!) mainly because I go when shes not there because she's a fruit loop who keeps nagging me to feed them....

I've been through each livery on WVF but nowhere that can take 2. I have had an offer from a friend 8 miles away but no transport ATM to get them there. I can see myself with two ponies in my town centre garden at this rate....

Royal polo, I know you';re from my town, do you know of anywhere at all??

I have meet a few y.o nutters in my time " wolfs in sheeps clothing" am sure all on the forum has also meet one of two also..... I would also do what Foo and everyone esle is saying. Good luck :)

Can you not just take the gate off its hinges? I have had to do this before. When a couple of liveries, who were just as nutts, padlocked my gate was well.

LOL at the title of your post! :D

If you have had and offer from your friend and you can possibly afford it I would be phoning transporters to move them for you maybe?

By the sounds of it this mad lady is unlikely to deliberatly hurt your ponies as she loves them so much? But I would need to get out of there before I slapped the silly cow and got myself in trouble! :D

Good luck in getting out of there!!!

I'm not exaggerating BTW. She truly is a nutter.... I'm more scared for my own safety than that of the boys.

Ehmmm, thinkin' laterally here: OK you don't wanna get done for criminal damage for sure, buuuuutttt, could not the horses sort of "break out" of the field? Know wot I mean, nudge, nudge wink wink???

But seriously, is the gate one with just hinges on one end that you could lift off? And as regards your taking bolt cutters etc (plus strong man etc) then she's got to prove that she put the padlock on hasn't she? And once your nags are out of it, then there's sweet FA she can do.

I wonder what the RSPCA would say coz if you can't get in the field to feed them, see their OK, or even worse, if there was an emergency, you couldn't get the vet to them, so this is another avenue you might explore.

Oh Lordy, what an awful situation. I do hope it all works out.

Where about in Leicester would we be looking, i am not nr you but quite like trawling the net on a mission to help x

an old schoolfriend has come to the rescue with her own land... and a trailer and another burly man :D thankyou everyone for your advice.

Don't quote me but I think if you take pics of the padlocked gate before cutting the padlock off, then replace the padlock with a new one. I don't think you can get in truble for it.

Hope you get your horses back X

PS is this the crazzy lady that wouldn't let your horse's have fly rugs on? or am I thinking of some other nutter?

no, that must be another member. If this one had her way they'd be fed molassed chaff year round (I found out she'd been feeding them when I'd asked her not to) and wrapped in layers of rugs with their 'ikkle hooves painted pink and sparkly.....
