How involved are yours with your four legged friends??? Mine has been a superstar tonight....I've been on foal watch for ages and getting really tired with it.....tonight Hubbys gone up doing foal watch for me so I can get a good nights sleep in MY OWN BED yay yay yay....just worried now that he sleeps through and misses it....

My OH is incredibly supportive but never seems to want to admit it! He finances my horse (and the vets bills!) tows us around the country (he has Grandfathers rights and I don't!

) and has been seen to clean my tack, poo pick the field and help poultice when required- and yet he hates being asked to do any of it and hates being thanked for it too??Apparently because then it makes it his 'job' and he doesn't want that level of commitment?

Mines great- he comes and helps me with mine if I ask him to because I am short on time or something, and sometimes he comes up with me and helps just because he feels like it! He is not 'horsey' at all and had nothing to do with them before me, but he likes the horses and I know he would go up and do them quite happily if I couldn't go for some reason. He says the straw and muck reminds him of his farming days! I guess growing up on a farm and driving tractors etc helps but I didn't expect him to be so willing to help and learn so definitely a bonus!

Well I am jealous; mine isn't even remotely interested. He doesn't mind me going off and doing stuff but he doesn't want to come along. The only time he ever really ventures out is if I beg him to come along and take pics which he gives in to once in a very blue moon!

I am very impressed by the far more sophisticated ones on here!

Yes I am definitely hooked now, it is so going to be this forum's fault if I dont do well in my exam tomorrow morning I spent far too much of my revision time on here today

OH is a riding instructor, so I dont have any problems! we look after the horses between us and I dont have to pay for lessons for myself or my girls arnt I lucky!

I am the OH.

I used to be happy to help out from time to time, feeding, poo picking and a few chores around the fields, but I slowly got sucked into the horsey world and now I ride as often as my OH, just not nearly as well.

I now work my 'other' pastime (field archery) around the horses

They're not bad, but just like my riding, they could always do with improving.

On the plus side, I'm now allowed to keep a practice target at the field, although my OH's mare always gives me filthy looks when I shoot, as she does not like the sound of the bow

NO! I don't shoot my bow when the horses are in the field....before anyone passes out

Mines fab. He rides anyway but as i'm working away at the minute he's looking after both his and mine. Mucking them both out, riding them both etc for me.
When i go to do anything and i'm nervous he'll get on hovis first to warm him up and settle him for me. Xc - he wears him out so he's not too strong for me, if i have a total flap jumping he has been known to get on hovis in the warm up ring in his hat and a pair of shorts to settle him down before i jump!
He drives me to all the shows etc as i'm not qualified on our lorry, drives my friends to the vets etc
I am rather lucky!
