Really 🤣 gosh, I feel a bit silly even considering it, they must of seen me a mile off coming! I feel sorry for the pony, she’s in a field on her own 🥺 hope she just gets to rest for the rest of however long her life will be now
Don't feel silly. You asked for advice & took it. That takes wisdom.

I hope you find a pony that is right for you.

That's the less nice part of the horse world. Well done on taking the advice. Lots don't.

Some years ago a very dear friend of mine was absolutely taken in for a 5yo pony that was pts 18months later. It was a huge amount of money and heartache, the pony was a total sweetheart, and she's not over it now. I am positive the sellers knew there was a serious problem and if I were to see the same or similar situation now it would scream red flags at me, but back then we just didn't know.

Places like this are invaluable when you are starting out.

Just to say thank you so so much to all of you giving me advice and being kind. Every single person has said walk away from this one so I will have to. The owner did get a bit pushy for a decision yesterday and I just can’t walk into something without researching and thinking about it properly so that made my decision. :)
Hats off to.you!!!
Well done.
As I said earlier most of the time we get people posting on here after already making first horse mistakes .
It's hard to reach out to first time buyers .
Good luck with your quest to find a lovely horse ! 🙂

Thank you so much :) hopefully there’s one out there for me xx

There definitely is but seek help from a very knowledgeable horse person you may have to pay for their time but it's so worth it, it may save you alot of heart ache and money in the long run.

It's always worth coming on here about any other future purchase lots of very good people on here to give advice.

Good luck x

Someone else mentioned it but do you have someone who can help you with this search, in person? Buying your first horse is not for the faint hearted and you could do with all the help you can get. We can advise to an extent, but an experienced trainer who knows your riding ability, your equine management knowledge and the facilities you'd be working with is worth their weight in gold. They will need paying of course but it's money well spent.
Hi sorry I’ve only just seen some of the comments on here. Yes I could ask one of my instructors to come with me, I was thinking of doing that. Thank you for the advice :)

Personally I'd run a mile, I think this will end up being a sooner retirement and heartache for you. It's a different story if they develop problems whilst owning them. Makes me cross selling their ponies with these issues.
