hey everyone,
has anybody else had a knee injury from riding? 6 years ago, i fell off my horse and twisted my leg backwards, damaging the ligaments/tendons. [hamstring injury]. the hospital said that the injury wasn't debilitating but it was. about 2/3 years later, i fell off another horse (well, it was a hasty dismount as the horse got down to roll with me, and i wasn't quick enough... again twisting my knee.) again, the hospital didn't think there was a big issue and simply gave me co-codamol and told me not to ride horses as this was the problem!
i've found that horse riding and bike riding help me with my knee, but its simple movements that cause the most pain... turning around on the spot, pausing too long while waiting to cross a road, getting out of bed awkwardly. for the past 2 years or so, if my leg seized up it was simply a case of popping it back into place.
however, yesterday i was leaving the yard, and my mum called me to come back as we had forgotten something. as i turned around on the spot my kneecap snapped out of place. since then, i've been in a lot of pain and just taking co-codamol. everytime i get in contact with the doctors about it, they say that the injury isn't bad and simply recommend physio. they refuse to investigate it further.
any advice, or similar stories?
