That was a fabulous result - the top three were over the moon. Hats off to the Irish rider in 4th though taking on that course with an 8 year old. One to watch.

On another note whatever happened to the 'Tribute to the horse' which traditionally rounded off Olympia? It was always very moving.

Just watched the jockeys challenge. The girls were a bit naff weren't they ? not a clear round amongst them! Brian Hughes's horse looked as grumpy and stubborn as he is at times ? bloomin quick though despite being piggy! I love Jim Crowley - he is such a character! I also didn't realise James Doyle was as tall as he is! Fair play to him for keeping his weight for the flat.

Tribute to the Horse is always at HOYS, and Olympia has Santa.

Jim is lovely, have known him and his fab mum, from his shetland ridden days then open showing & whp classes as well as the shetland grand national. He rode Tanygroes Tyree (aka Treetrunk) in much of them, she was a sharp but great little mare ?

Anyone with H&C tv are Carl Hester’s or Pippa Funnels masterclasses on there?

I’d love to watch the fancy dress but debating whether to pay or not

I think Pippa's jumping masterclass was with vlogger Meg Elphick, so hopefully it (or at least parts of it) will go on the Elphick Event Ponies YT channel. :)

I really loved Matt's genuinely overjoyed reaction to his win.

I watched Matt win the Hickstead Speed derby in 2017 and 2018 and he was similarly overjoyed. He's a very characterful competitor and was clearly popular with the other riders (lots came out to watch him ride and were cheering him on).
