OMG!! How many rugs?

Oh lord i think i fall into the addicts catagory after reading this thread! i try to stick to the "two of each weight" rule so he's got one to wear while one dries, vice versa so my list is;

2 x lightweight
2 x mediumweight
2 x heavyweight no neck
2 x heavyweight fixed neck
1 x l/w stable rug
2 x heavyweight stable rug
1 x fleece
1 x wickaway
1 x show fleece

GULP!!! that's 14 for one horse!!!! xx
 
:o I also fall into the rug addiction...

I had 25 rugs for one horse! Mum bought her horse, so obviously we bought more rugs :rolleyes:

Fortunately, both horses are the same size, so we shared out all of the rugs we had and...

Now, each horse has 15-16 rugs each!!! :eek:

My one cob has:

2 x medium weight turn-outs
1 x medium weight stable rug
1 x heavy weight stable rug
1 x fleece
1 x rain sheet, newly purchased.

OH thinks I'm mad: 'How the ******* can one horse possibly need six rugs?'!! :rolleyes:

But having read some of the above posts, I know I'm waaaaay, waaaaay off the mark on this one! ;):D
 
I have 30+ rugs.... need to sell some really! I got given all bar 4 for free, all fixed and usable, good brands rambo, masta, weatherbeeta etc - I love having horsey friends who feel sorry for me :p. When i bought the rugs for my last horse I had one light, medium and heavy weight and 2 stable rugs and a cooler! Also have 1000s of bits of junk literally girths, side reins, reins, odd bits collected over the years.....
 
Goodness knows how many are at the yard, but they have 1 or 2 each that are actually usable.
Ned has 3, but 2 are new and unused for now.

1 fleece.
1 thick winter rug.
1 thinner rug.

My Shetland has...
2 x Amigo lightweight turnouts
2 x Cuddley ponies lightweight turnouts - Must sell these as clean, reproofed and ready to go
1 x medium weight cuddley ponies turnout - again
Must sell this
1 x Rambo 350grm turnout
1 x Rhino 250grm turnout, with full neck
2 x stable rugs
1 x cotton sheet
1 x fleece

Holy *****.... Never actually written any of this down... In my defence hes stabled at night all year round, is 25yrs old, and hates getting wet or cold these days. I'm not even going to attempt to count the 2 horses.

I NEED a new MW because the current one doesn't fit well around the chest. That is today's job.

to too am an avid rug collector!! cheap second hand rugs are my calling :) my one horse has:

2xcotton sheet - completely identical, complete bargain why not get two :L
1xL/W stable neck with hood
1xM/W stable with half neck
1xM/W stable with hood
1xH/W stable with Hood
1x EXTRA H/W stable (Brand New)
1xL/W TO with out hood
1xL/W TO with detachable hood
2xM/W TO with hood
1xM/W TO without Hood

i havent even considered all the ones shes grown out of in the two years i've had her and theres been a few! she was a 5ft3 when i got her and now shes a 6ft :L

Worst thing is under vets instruction she now has to live out 24/7 untill next year due to her stifle issue - UN RUGGED!! i cannot see this happening - she will live out but i can see the odd rug 'falling' onto her :o
 
Well I've got 4 huge cases full of rugs, think I must have about 40 rugs in total. I have one horse and 2 veteran ponies (and only about 8 of those rugs fit the 2 ponies!). So basically my one horse has about 30 rugs!!! But then I've collected them over the years, I love nothing better than buying rugs. And I dont want to get rid of any, coz what happens if I ever end up buying a horse who is say a 5'9, well since I have a rug in pretty much every size I'll be sorted!
 
Only two turnout rugs on the go this year, BUT... My 3 yr old has gone from wearing 5 ft rugs to 6.6 rugs so I have a number (can't be specific in case husband sees this!) stashed away in case I ever do the baby thing again. Two stable rugs but both have been bequeathed by a friend whose 10 yr old Warmblood is still outgrowing his rugs...
 
I have too many dandy brushes!! I know of 4 in my grooming kit, and another 2 for 'smart' plus the 4 old ones (the best ones) that are always on hand on the stable window ledges!! I have 2 horses!!!

I only have 1 stable rug, but have 3 coolers, 2 old sweat sheets (like vests), 1 old jute rug and 3 turnouts, one is brand new, I didn't want horsey to trash it, so it has stayed in the package!! Will use it this year though as when I moved, I had a clear out and the old rat eaten, horse torn one saw the bonfire!! That is all for my riding horse, the yearling has borrowed a summer sheet - just so she can say she has worn clothes!! lol

Total = 10 +1 borrowed!
 
My full (apart from half head and legs) clipped Shetland has the following;

1 x lightweight wug t/o
1 x medium wug t/o
1 x pony plus full neck heavy t/o
1 x light stable
1 x medium stable
1 x full neck heavy stable
2 x fleece

And that's after giving a load away! My wb yearling has by contrast;

2 x lightweight t/o
1 x light stable

I refuse to buy much else until he needs it as he is growing rapidly!

I also have huge bin bag full of rugs from my old boy that I am hoping the baby will grow into for next year!
 
About 14 or 15,all used regularly. Had horse for a long time though & had some of the rugs for about 10yrs. Also buy good makes & look after them well so they're keep going forever! Did manage to sell on a couple this year after having a huge clearout, heartbreaking sale!
 
Well, I was feeling smug with my control over rugs until today...... I bought another! However she does need it. She's just been clipped and her med stable rug doesn't fit her, it hardly covers her bum, so I'll give it to another livery with a smaller horse so that one doesn't count :p

Uh-oh, it's started...:o

Went into local saddlery today in search of turnout rug, thought I knew what I wanted to buy, came out with turnout rug as planned but also a new fly rug for next year just because they were half price....oops! :D
 
I have one horse and he as 6 outdoor rugs of varying weights (plus 3 neck collars for those rugs that aren't full neck), 2 fleece rugs, 5 stable rugs (one of which is full neck), 3 sweat rugs, 1 summer sheet, 1 fly rug!

Thats a grand total of 18 different rugs.... oh dear...!
 
Well I think having passed at least 3 rugs to my friend for her youngster I only have :

Maybe need to stop buying now!! Only have 1 horse!!! Husband keeps moaning there is too much horse stuff in the garage, I wonder why?!
