OMG!! How many rugs?

My name is Brigadoon and I am a rug addict.

If I counted them up I would faint and wake up divorced. Sadly I also have a bit of a thing for bridles, bits, saddle cloths, breeches, boots and chaps.I like matchy matchy! I never sell anything but happily lend to good friends.
In fact I couldn't bear to sell my old trailer..its full of rugs!!
 
I have 16 for one horse but that includes exercise sheet and ride on fly rug. It has only been in the last few months that I have developed a weakness for rugs - am still not convinced I have enough lol
 
Olly has:

1 x MW stable rug
1 x HW stable rug
2 x rain sheets
1 x MW rug
1 x HW rug
1 x fly rug

So 12 :D

Millie has

1 x fleece
1 x LW stable rug
1 x MW stable rug
1 x HW stable rug
1 x rain sheet with neck
2 x MW t/o with neck
1 x MW t/o with half neck
1 x HW t/o with neck
1 x fly rug

so 10

= 22 rugs for 2 horses! Plus the exercise sheets!

I am a rug-aholic too. :(

Somewhere, deep in my rug collection there are two 5ft rugs and three 6ft6 rugs. I don't own a horse in either of those sizes at the moment.

I probably should sell them but... what if I get another youngster (5ft could be useful then ;) ) or my chestnut gelding grows mahoosive and needs 6ft6 (unlikely as he's an arab :p )?

I can't tell you how happy I was, when it became clear that my filly needed a new turnout because she had grown to fit 5ft9 rugs... and I didn't have any! :D Yay, bargain shopping time! :)

My only saving grace is that I never pay full price and I'm quite happy to use second hand stuff. I've got some super bargains over the years too. New Bucas smartex Rain = £40, new 5ft9 turnout (fullprice £130) = £42, 2nd hand (but looks new) horseware newmarket wrap around exercise sheet = £11. :)

Well on the way to being rug-a-holic.

50 for three beasties.. without counting excerise sheets and old ones on the lorry as emergencys etc that have gathered in draws.. there must be at least 15 of those.

I just cant resit a nice rug!!

love it, the next time my OH rolls his eyes and mutters under his breath when he seems my little stack of rugs i will just show him this thread:D:D
i have absolutely no idea how many rugs i have, big girl came with a full wardrobe but she has trashed a few in the years i've had her, i've only ever bought her a new LW turnout. ginger boy probably has about 4 , he never wears them, in fact theres one still in bag with tags on in the office:o I am guilty of keeping my old girls stable rugs, even though they fit none of my current lot and they don't get stabled anyway:o

my big girl does have about 6 bridles though... i have no idea why, it just happened:p i think they may multiply by themselves if left together too long:eek:
 
We've got about 40 rugs for 5 horses and don't use all of those.
100 for 2 is rather excessive.
Please don't forget various horse charities would always be grateful for any rugs we no longer use.
