OMG it's that time again...weekend plans!

Wow wow wow MP, it would be rude not to take the wise owl slipper to an advanced party before too long :D

Rocking saddle cover btw

Good luck to all getting out, and with having that baby FW.

I'm out being nominated useless groom for friend at first post baby event tomorrow- hoping to be of some use with the horse while she and husband are playing the baby juggle. Sunday don't know yet, could do with hiring an arena with loud, brightly coloured jumps to keep on top of the demons.

Yes they are looking for white/ cream/ beige breeches, shirt and tie/ stock ( I'm not sure which) and a jacket. (Tweed or navy/black). The horse is supposed to be plaited aswell.

I did this class for the first time last week and showed up wearing a blingy stock shirt :D ,horse wasn't plaited etc, but they let me in! I found out about the dress code after the class.

The marks given are based on the rider, not how the horse jumps. They are looking for good lines to the fences, straightness, landing on the correct diagonal, rider position over the fences and a good rythym around the course. It's only one round because there's no jump off.

Thanks that's really helpful.. I wont be plaiting as I need something to hang onto. I only have white breeches and black jacket so it will need to do I guess. I really only want to do it as its the biggest class they have. Good to know I wont look really out of place, fingers crossed now she doesn't lie in poo tonight

Well, I went and jumped today.
Whose ruddy idea was it to release a monsoon as I trotted into the arena? :mad3:
Luckily the sj was in a decent all weather surfaced arena.
We lobbed round the 1st 8 fences Inc a double, several sets of fillers, a skinny on tight angle, and a flipping wall in there, then had to sprint the next 6 fences as they were against the clock.
Couldn't ruddy well see where I was going, rain chucking down, managed to complete clear, finished 4th in class :)
Back to box and dragged a bedraggled fuzzy on (Good pony as can be tricky to load and I went way outside her comfort zone), stripped her off and rubbed down, then sorted myself out to go home.

V good fuzzy, horrid weather, spent rest of afternoon slobbing on sofa :)

We'll done. You had a very successful day.
I had a good dressage lesson with my drill sergeant instructor :D
Off jumping tomorrow.

We didn't manage show-jumping but we went XC schooling today and Jensen was amazing :) :) so pleased with him :) I've got some great pics but sadly I just cannot be bothered with the hassle of uploading them now photobucket doesn't work, unless someone can tell me an easy way? :)

Lets try this....

well done lev!

We didn't bother as the show centre decided to split the indoor in half for in hand/ridden rings rather than use the outdoor school, it really isn't that big ;). Weather was ok in the end (mostly cos I hacked out in full waterproofs of course!) but they went ahead with their plan (we ride past). Fingers crossed for next month :).

We had a good day today. We won both our classes and managed a pb in both - 68.2 and then 69%. Had a few bobbles but nothing horrendous and no spooks for once!

Hopefully Pics will work...

Fun day. Got brave and did the metre class. Came first. (small class, but who cares ;) )

Horse nearly lost his life in the warm up when a Shetland pulling a traditional Gypsy caravan strolled past!

How does one upload pics now then? Last time I used photobucket but further up someone said it doesn't work now? Have a report and pic to share!

Everyone seems to be having a lot of fun and success!
On the (much much) lower end of the scale, I took new girl for a hack on Sunday and she had her first ever under-saddle canter. She was foot perfect (well, apart from being very keen!). I seem to have 2 identical horses, both in terms of personality and looks :p.
Photo from the top of the common about 30 seconds after we'd stopped:

I'm still not meant to be riding so progress has been glacially slow, but we're getting there. Tho I'm now working in St Andrews for another month as part of my PhD so it's more time off for both horses.

Had a fab time at Cherwell.
Jumped the 85cm and BN on Friday, just a rider induced stop in the 85cm (my legs are there for a reason!) double clear in the BN and just out of the placing’s. Saturday she just tapped a pole in jump off part, I think this was the best round of the show for us as she just felt super. Sunday just did the BN again, she felt tired and just wasn’t as sharp off my leg so the round was a bit sticky, I tend to get a bit too forward in my body when she isn’t off my leg enough so there where a few awkward jumps but she still jumped double clear and again just out of the placing’s. I was so chuffed with her the whole show as she settled like a pro, didn’t bat any eyelid at the jumps and just behaved so well for a 6 year old at her first away show. Think we are going to get the rest of her BN double clears then do a few 95cm with the plan of jumping discoveries by the end of the year although I’m not in any rush with her.
Obligatory picky :biggrin3:

Had arranged to collect new horse yesterday, on my birthday. Headed off in the wagon, about an hour away, with parents along for the journey.
Lets just say that a couple of hours later we were driving home with horse on board... and a puppy! Mum fell in love with the last puppy left of the litter and just couldn't leave her, so, introducing our two new girls- Polly (the horse) and Bess (the pup).
Polly travelled perfectly, settled quickly in her stable for a few hours and then had her first night out with the Diva. The two got on like old friends, quick sniff then heads down munching (headcollar just left on for the introductions, in case of needing to grab quick!).

Mum and I had to dive out to the pet shop to buy a load of little puppy stuff last night, as our other dog is a Great Dane X so everything we have is huge!
Puppy is a delight, slept all night until 5am and then just had a little potter around happily. Our other dog absolutely loves her, so that's been great, but the cats are convinced she's some sort of demon and are giving her a wide berth!

As birthdays go, it was a pretty good one!

OOh both are gorgeous scats! I love that you went to collect a horse and came back with a horse and a puppy. Love her little white bits on her paws. What breed is she?
