Excuse the excitement but after my moany dressage threads I thought I'd share a more positive one. After our last terrible prelim test my instructor thought a Novice might help us. So we went to have a go at Novice 23 & 37.

23 went really well he doesn't have the power to push properly from behind yet in the mediums and he jogged in his free walk but he got 61.85 and 6th and no mention of a contact issue. I only found out last night that means we now have a Dressage point!

37 wasn't as great I let him go on to his forehand but his counter canter was fab.

I think im getting hooked on Dressage oh dear!
 
Oh WOWOWOWOW HAC - fab news and well done you & Moni. Can't see you staying solely on the dark side for long though, once the spring is here you'll be itching to get back out on the XC course :p
 
Fantastic, I'm very envious. I've now got a horse that is very competent but a bit stressy and I'm desperate to get my first point, but I need to relax or I have no chance. First outing was a bit of a disaster, me a bit stressed, horse very stressed and marks very disappointing. It is so difficult!!!!
 
Well done! Its something I dream about, maybe when my baby is old enough (and I learn to ride properly)...*goes off to dream :-)
