On a very very hot day I went showing
crazy I know, I much prefer the dressage now but with a severe lack of transport, an outing is an outing!!
It was only a poxy little local show but I want to get a few outings under my belt just as prep for the dressage next month. I hacked about an hour to get there, and obviously the were running late!!
First class was Ridden Horse 15hh plus, only 3 of us in there and hadn't had a proper warm up because it was SO hot I didn't push him more than necessary. Unfortunately he wasn't quite listening to me and we got pushed from 1st down to second because he wanted to canter instead of showing his medium tot
Next was M&M, with a good sized class (which they split) He was better, listening more but not working like a dressage cob!! Anyway we came 1st...cue very pleased Trendybraincell

Into the championship, which was surprising strong considering it was local. Much deliberation between judges and we got Reserve Champion to a charming little county level show pony as Champion.
Also (personally for me the best part), whilst warming up for M&M a guy came over to ask about the Welsh Cob, vital statistics etc etc...asked if he was for sale and offered me 6K for him...very nice I said, but no thank you. He looked us up and down and said "if you gave me that for 6 months I'd get that to HOYS driving!"..."I'll give you 10K tomorrow for him!"

WOW...to say the least, I still turned him down, saying the Welsh Cob is with me for life! I now want to find out who this guy was, he won the driving classes with a very nice Hackney, so I just want to see if he knows his stuff.
Anyway, not a bad day eh
