Hello. Horse is barefoot went lame 2 weeks ago after a few steps end of one ride, fine next day ride again a few odd steps in walk, sound in trot and then lame on way home down hill. Dismounted and led. Slight medial (inside) pulse right fore above fetlock once stood at yard which Increases with rest disappears soon as moved. Turned out same afternoon comes in after hooning around (looked great in gallop:-() visibly lame once stood and whole of inside only right fore filled. Got vet next day as worried suspensory as has similar lameness last august same place same symptoms but was diagnosed as bruise. Returned to work ok at time vet was happy with feet but not overly impressed as on restricted turn out on fertilised grass.
Moved yards to normal grass horse out 10 to 12 hours a day no issues. Vet this time suggested abbess or bruise but could not find any sensitivity in any foot apart from a tiny bit in right heel around frog and said possibly because horses feet are much too strong along with immune system which keeps suppressing abcess bruise or blood blister? He is now out in boots and pads and on 1 danilon a day after a weeks poulticing bought nothing. Happily galloping around. Looks sound morning and night on hard in no boots in walk (not trotted) but still has this filled inside leg and pulse after standing and in the morning.... I am worried it is something more sinister but have no idea. Vet has ruled out all others but this is from same vets (not actual same vet )that wrote him off with navicular and said he could never be unshod. Please can someone try and help me? Thanks if you got to the end.
Forgot to say horse same behaviour with out danilon !!
