So sorry for your loss, it’s hard whether they are too young or have been with you forever. Love to hear of the ones that have a good long life but it leaves a huge hole. Thinking of you and hope in the future another happy soul can have a great home with you. ❤️?

I'm so sorry for your loss. It's wonderful when you get to keep them that long, but you still always wish you had gotten a bit more time.

If you hadn't said she was a Lab before saying she once ate a whole Christmas cake without ill effects afterwards, I would have guessed on a Lab after reading that.

Thank you all for your kindness .
We where preparing supper which was left over beef it was Dexter so there was lots of fat so MrGs was giving them bits suddenly she just sort half reared up swirled on spot pooed herself and collapsed she could not get up and was having spasms a bit like a fit .
We used a towel as sling and got to the aga and sat with my on my lap .
I called the vet who came .
Vet says it looked like some sort of heart related issues she certain had very little circulation and it was hard to get the drug in but she was calm throughout on my lap she has stayed with the vet all her life if we are away so it was perfect for her .
If any one hears of a Labrador bitch in need of a home pm me (needs not to be a cat killer ).
I liked this as couldn't do anything else. She sounds like a wonderful dog and although awful for you a peaceful finish for her with her loved ones around her.
She must have had a wonderful life x
I love her name Pearl is a really lovely name. GS I love that picture she looks very wise and clever.
