i'm a postie and as a postie you obviously go down tracks etc that the public do not get a chance to, so i went down to this farm and just as i was turning to leave i noticed this collie dog lying down in the garden at the other side and so i went over to it as it didnt appear to be moving and when i got over to it, i literally could not believe my eyes! i thought i was seeing things, the poor dog he looked very old had a massive open what looked to be a massive bulging tumour on its shoulder covering a very large area all the way up its neck and down its leg and also there were cuts and open wounds on and around the tumour were i can only imagine it had been chewing at it as there were huge amounts of flies swarming it i initially thought he was dead but then he moved to try and get the flys off.
i got the rspca number and phoned them and they said an inspector would go straight to the dog, and i just got a phone call from them saying the dog had been seen by a vet but that he was very ill and would not make it , cant stop thinking about him poor boy wish i'd seen him earlier i would say this is not something that would of happened quickly would have said it had been ongoing for quite some time. the people always seemed so nice, how could people let there old dog go on like that ? without vet attention dont think i'll ever forget it
