There are days when you wished you'd stayed in bed, and today was one of them.

These last few days the young lad has been increasingly nappy and for what reason I just dont know.

He went out for 5 hours this morning, and came in just after 12 to be smarten up. He also went on the walker for a further 30 minutes before loading time.
Well he didnt disappointed and was a complete arse to load... even with his travelling friend for company.
Eventually decided to go with a rope up his bum.

On route, now late.... arrive and park next to Sillymare
smile.gif

Off load and hop on, damn thing decides it doesnt want to leave the lorry park and spends most of its time walking backwards on two legs arghhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I hope off and lead him up to the start, where i get strange looks and asks of *are you okay?*

So i hop on again at the warm up and Sarah comes over and we trot off together. Sarah was brilliant i cantered snoop around and she would drop back so i could canter on again on our own.
Pop over the 3 fences as easy as pie.

So ask the steward that because hes turned into a devil pony any chance she could just call me and i can just canter through the start and go lol
They said yes
shocked.gif
and that i could go in 3 minutes! great!!

So trot him round, keeping him moving is the only way with him atm. So i trot around the start he calls me through and off we go heading towards the tiny tyres which he flies in fine style. Bounding down the hill i completely lost concentration and was flying down forgetting i need to start pulling up to try and get him over the smallest log on the planet, not only small in height but small in width two.
Anyway, totally losing my balance ponio decides that fence judge, mum, grampy and other spectators are scary and just does a hop and dive to the side (about 20 foot away from the ruddy fence) dopy here slides off ARGHHHH
About 4 attempts later to try and get this lard arse back on board the ruddy horse turns a small circle pops the fence and carries on - hes hanging badly to home all the way to the 3rd, but once notices the fence he locks on and jumps the bank to roll top fine. Bounding on to the 4 the double all okay, but naps and hangs again to the 5th with a small drop and up over a bank - he flies this but nearly misses the exit off
smirk.gif

On then along the bottom field a quick change wiht the whip and he jumps the next fine, but again decides he has to have the last word and has a nap and stands up bloody thing - a quick slap and he continues and then completely changes personality.
It then flies the next two fences wiht the drop down to the water, bold as brass through the water and bounds up the hill to the step up one stride to barrels, he bounced this
smirk.gif

Over the flower box to another bank and onto the bounce steps - now hes running for home like a grand national winner - blooming thing still full of running neighs all the way to the last so i gave him a kick and it accelerates once again.

Home clear, minus rider taking a detour....

Loads 2nd time going home, and back on the walker once home for 20 minutes, it trots round.

Looks as fresh as a daisy and very pleased with himself.

So there you go
smile.gif
pony was fab....when it has a fence in front of it, rider needs to concentrate more.

Sorry it wasn't such a good day ,they love to make fools of us, but as long as you are safe and sound.
I expect you read my report ,silly me worrying ,he made it look so easy and we had a lovely day but we mustn't get too confident or someone up there will step in and put a stop to our fun.
There's another day tomorrow

well done, at least you him round and am sure with more outings all this nappiness will disappear.
he sounds like he is feeling very full of himself and thinks he is wonderful!

He has been going so well for so long bound to have a hiccup. The main thing was the fences didn't phase him and he will get over the rest - probably be tons better next time.

Any pics of you falling off
wink.gif

PMSL!! Sorry, I had to laugh all the way through that, he sounds SO funny!!
grin.gif

So Snoopy thinks that he knows best now does he?! What a cheeky little monkey!
But aside from the naughtiness, sounds as though he was a star over the fences, and wow he is so bold!!
cool.gif

That IS is problem, he loves being the centre of attention, he loves it and feeds off it.
Stupid thing is put a fence in front of him and all the naughtyness disappears....
I just dont know where its come from as hes been so good up until Wedneday....its either this new diet of chaff and oil (and hes protesting) or the spring grass.

I have just got off the phone from your mum
blush.gif
half an hour later!!
grin.gif

Hope you are ok after your fall? Naughty Snoop

These things happen V its your first party so things are going to happen

No there should have been a video, but mother didnt get me as i arrived sooner than she thought lol
She said I saw this horse pegging it down the hill and then realised it was you lol

Hes as bold as anything ive ridden, those fences were childs play to him, he would have jumped better over the bigger fences. I just wished Id sat up and rode down there more defensively instead of letting him bowl on and just thinking hes an experienced horse... its easy to forget on him.

Hopefully SM will get on here later, and tell us her good news

If i didnt laugh i could have cried. Its becoming frustrating all this rearing.
He is so exciting to ride, in that he just LOVES jumping and is so so athletic hes like a cat!
I love riding him, but boy he really is going to have to pull his socks up before long. Can you imagine, Twesledown doesnt have the BEST
crazy.gif
starting area for a nappy horse - does it!

Naughty Snoop, think hes got too much spring into his system!!!

Hope your ok after your fall ??

When's the next outing then
grin.gif

[/ QUOTE ]

Im still hoping its the grass thing lol

Im all okay hunny, not a mark on me, totally pathetic slide off, wasnt even a proper fall lol nothing dramatic.

LOL hes off to Weston Lawns tomorrow for his photo shoot with Geoff Luckett.

Glad Snoop enjoyed himself; have you stopped swearing yet?

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, until I got home and found brother had fiddled with the internet and so i couldnt get signal. Hence late post arghhhhhhhhhhhh

Flora was the same last year, the actual fences seemed to take her by surprise she was so busy looking around her. She is fine now and v focussed. She is still weird about water though, at least you haven't that problem.
My friend fell off her horse at the second PN fence yesterday (fairly small roller) because the plastic flowers used as the groundline moved in the breeze.

Sounds like he was great once his mind was on the job, hope you weren't too bruised and are looking forward to your next outing.

How did sillymare get on...

He was grand, you wouldnt have enjoyed his naughtyness but you would have been proud of him going xc. PMSL there were times when i would have been quite happy if someone had eaten him.

Its his first time at an XC comp and its all sooo new for him. Its a completly different ball game from jumping indoors. I am SO sure that it wont be long before he settles and just goes forwards- he just has to learn what XC is all about then once he has locked on exactly what he has to do there will be no stopping you and I bet he will just be going forwards and looking for the next fence to jump!
Can you take him out draghunting with the Berks and Bucks?maybe it would help a bit, teach him that he has to go forwards and jump, rather than hang around playing silly ponies!
confused.gif

Its such early days yet- dont loose hope,he loves to jump and that is the most important thing so he will soon work out what he has to do!

See, the problem at the 2nd fence was def greeness and was scared of all the ppl around the fences.

The next 6 fences although he jumped spot on, he was hanging badly, mainly due to his bloody pig headedness.
After fence 7 or 8 after i gave him a slap for being such a blinking fool, he then settled well, and was like riding a tiger, looking for the next fence and up for the job.

Im fine, landed well on my feet although backwards.... dont do things by halves
wink.gif

We have a lesson with Geoff Luckett tomorrow, so must go to bed now, as have to be up at silly oclock. We then have Grasshoppers on saturday, and now planning a further hunter trial on the 15th before our ODE debut the following week.

Sillymare did far better than me, well far better than everyone really

O bless you! Naughty Snoop, but at least he did not stop and have a look at anthing he was bold and went for it!

Are you sure he's not a mare?
wink.gif
Sounds great fun. Challenging horses are all the more rewarding on the days they walk straight into the box and straight out of the car park. Sounds like a fun day!
grin.gif

hes rising 5 isnt he? trust me, KWPNs and '5' shouldnt be in the same sentance, they turn into devil horses
grin.gif
grin.gif

However well done and you got round clear apart from one little mishap which is totally fantastic!! xx
