what du you think about the following story

Myself find an ad in Internet i was loving what I see description was ok with one problem horse 15.1hh 5 years old and green has injury(vertical cut) on lower hind leg happend in November 2012 but seller write it is only an superficially wound and horse was never lame on it ok i thought worth a visit not far from me
I was there yesterday seller was not present a friend of her was showing me the horse
i went into the box and looked first on the injured leg it was a wound 10cm x 7cm and the complete lower hin leg was swollen friend said horse is on box rest that were the reason for the swelling?!?

Seller and friend given me diffrently answers to same questions

I fell in love with her but price and condition are not in the right place
what would you do?

Do you need an urgent decision? I would wait to speak to seller. I had this where the seller was meant to meet me but when I got there it was a couple of ladies who clearly were MINI homestyled You know whats beginning with D(I met quite a few of these non Ds usually mother and daughter)!

And the story changed as i took my time the owner even had the nerve to ring to see how we were getting on(I had stipulated I wanted to see passport etc but to no avail).

Yawn yawn. I walked.

Sounds odd to me but could be genuine etc. How are you meant to try and ride a horse with an injury? You either walk or if interested go when the horse is better? I would be inclined to vet too....! or walk.

Must say one lie leads to another one etc reading back. Walk. They should be kind owners and advertise a healthy horse not injured one.

No, I wouldn't consider buying this horse.

However, I might recommend to the owners that they call the vet out to get it treated............................

I'd be amazed if anyone bought a horse with an onging injury so why not ask the seller to call you when the vet has been and the injury is healed/ swelling gone.
If the horse still looks as good ask to speak to vet about exact nature of the injury

Personally as a novice, although I'm a (small animal) vet nurse, I'd be asking a knowledgeable equine instructor/ preferably a vet to have a look. I must admit though, that that size of wound doesn't sound like good news, and I would want to know if a massage/physio/exercise plan was in place to help reduce the swelling, treatment plans in place for wound etc.....

Poor girl :(

Surely a superficial wound from November should have healed a long time ago. Should be no reason for box rest 2/3 months later. Sounds very dodgy, I would walk too

so first point seller want to sell her because move to oversea than friend says me horse is not tall enough for seller to ride

than seller wrote in ad that that they bred her but in phone call said he has paid £800 for horse which he want have back

confused:confused::confused:

What's there to be confused about? You're being fed a line.

Walk away, why is the wound still bad after 2/3 months?! There's obviously something weird gong on. Also I assume due to wound you won't have been able to try out the horse let alone have it vetted or anything....find another one!

the confusing was about why people do that.... my feelings are in the roller coaster

Why do people do things? Who knows - people do crazy irrational things! There is a reason why I work with animals ;)

I think I would walk away for the sake of my own (your) sanity TBLover - Sadly we can't save them all :(

my heart will give her a new good home but my brain says no

im far away from a win win situation

seller don't aggree for a vetting because he think she will not pass because of horses leg.................:confused:

Of course it isn't going to pass a vetting! Why don't' you put a thread on about what sort of horse you are looking for and your budget - loads of people on here like searching the horses for sale websites - someone might come up with something that has four sound legs...

Really? You need opinions on whether to buy a horse with an injury, the owners feeding you a pack of lies and refusing a vetting?

Dont buy it

its hard to say no but all of you are right i will walk away even it is hard

I am looking for a youngster good bone but in fine typ (finally i have made that descion now)
