Opinions on the conformation of this horse?

Looks nice overall , although I'm no expert though and I do think that the throat is not very 'slender'- which I believe is undesirable as the horse cannot flex very well.. Just being picky and i'm probably wrong :p

And find out who trained him and ring them to get all the info.
If you type his name into weatherbys you can also see what he's sold for at the sales.
Also, find out if he's subject to a Non-Racing Agreement. If so, find out why.

Good luck with it :)

Generally lovely. The only thing I thought is that he may get a bit herring gutted if he loses any condition. Didn't think the feet were that worrying.

Don't know much about the consequences of a herring gutted horse, could you possibly enlighten me?:)

I was wondering if his age may account slightly for his small feet, as one of the photos is him as a 2yo?

If I was being picky I would say his neck is set a little too high for my liking and as someone else mentioned he's pretty thick set in the jowl. I also think his hocks could be set a little lower and his cannon bones are quite long but that's pretty common with tbs.

However I do think he is very smart indeed :)

I had a tb mare with a tendancy to go herring gutted. The only concern was keeping a saddle in the right place, as they slipped back. She had to have a breast plate. Its not the end of the world.

I was going to say little feet too. I have a TB with little feet and she's had soundness issues all her life, had to retire her at 12 yo.

What sort issues can be caused by small feet and what sort of management would have to be considered in order to try avoid such issues?

Now, I do dislike it when people refer to an animal as being 'sexy' but if I were a mare, boy would I find him 'sexy' :)

Lovely. Looks very smart. Looks the type that if he isn't what you want in a year or so he is smart enough to sell .
I don't think his feet look a problem. He just looks nicely trimmed/shod. They don't look flat which is a problem.
My advanced mare has quite small feet and she is the toughest/soundest horse ever. (Touch wood) just make sure you have a good farrier. Good luck, he looks lovely.
