At a show a couple of weeks ago i was told that my 2 year old sports horse was too "immature" and thats why he was put down the line (as a yearling he won sporthorse and warmblood championships and was never out of the top three).
Basically i am very aware about the dangers of over producing and putting too much weight on immature joints and i am constantly told that my horses are too skinny by judges (barr the BEF futurity, they said he was perfectly fine) but i refuse to put any more weight on this lad as he is filling out very quickly at the minute and seems to be doing fine in my eyes.
what do you think? is he immature for his age, he turns 2 tomorrow? would you want to put extra weight on this? Apologies for the pic, i had to zoom alot!!
