My lovely boy, Tinner, is away being backed and it suddenly dawned on me that my hi viz is a mix of yellow and pink pieces. This is fine but he is a very bright orange and white skewbald, and it's all going to clash horribly! Can anyone recommend some nice orange gear please?

The more you clash; the more visible you'll be!

I was out Sunday on my grey with a bright orange exercise sheet and tabard, pink hat band and yellow boots on horse. Daughter on chestnut had same orange sheet, yellow tabard and Polite boots.

The different hi viz colours work best in different types of light. Pink stands out best in bright daylight, and yellow best in lower light conditions. Orange works well in both :) I second eBay for hi viz bargains, there's plenty on there.

My husband is a fencing contractor and currently is doing loads of work on the railways - they have to wear orange hi viz head to toe so whenever I see it it always makes me think 'railway worker'! On the plus side it is very easy to get hold of and cheap too from workwear places.

Yep. You're probably right! I'm a railway worker and have a full orange hi viz wardrobe.
I do sometimes wear my orange fleece if it's "jumper weather" when I'm hacking out, and I have some rather fetching orange hi viz polo shirts and waterproof trousers too!
Unfortunately, all my coats/ vests have my company logo emblazoned all over the back, and are covered in grease, so not so suitable!

OP, Orchardbeck is right, go to any workwear supplier and you will find a plethora of orange hi viz. I have a ginger and white too, and he is decked out in yellow (apart from any railway gear I may be wearing at the time!), but I do agree with the others that say clashing is good for visibility. :)

That's because orange is the most visible colour ;) Important for railway stuff.

Ebay's your best bet :)
