So today we decided to try a little exercise in the arena, a walk to trot exercise , i decided to just do it on the outside length of the arena since it was our first time. I took it from an australian woman i follow on you tube. She advises 10 walk strides and then four trot strides but thats when properly schooling. We are just at very basics and not doing too much before spring 😍 He did very well anyway, I had to cut the end of the video off as sometimes my friend cant shut up and not interfere. It really fks me off, anyway…

Good boy ! The views look gorgeous from the area rolling feilds

I mentioned on IM's thread about her ex racer - you should send some of your adventures with Orbit to ITV racing for their home schooling section - they often include some ex racers and I love seeing what they're getting up to in their retirement, more so than seeing the in training clips

I love the racehorses where are they now FB page some really famous names crop up from time to time

Yeah I could, not sure Orbit would be much use as he never raced though

Bit of a bittersweet day for me, been tears and cuddles, guilt ridden, emotional breakdown, wondering should I change my mind! He was born when BB took ill the last time with colic in 2020 , found that very spooky. View attachment 124384

He arrived safe and sound at 3 pm. He is utterly gorgeous and utterly huge! He is gonna he a big boy. His breeding is just phenomenal!
And I actually do not think he can understand a thing I have said but the ears did go really forward when he heard the bucket with nuts!

He is going to be a big boy! That is a 6’6 rug he has on and his botty is hanging out of it.

We will get there. Slowly and surely, he came straight off the lorry to me and nuzzled me and i gave him a kiss. That smell… you just cant beat it 🥰

I am hoping we make a similar unbreakable bond. He walks like a perfect gentleman… he stands perfectly at the gate when you open it, he stand to get the headcollar off. His manners are impeccable. I let him off and off he went grazing , tasting every bit of grass 😍 like he had always been here.

Kevin said , you two will really bond, you will get on really well, yous will be out hunting in no time 😂 aye kev, if you hear an air ambulance.,, it will be for me 😂😂😂

Here are a few wee piccies from his arrival

Orbit had his first wee bizzum moment this morning!! Guess it has to happen and I guess it is my fault anyway, I have been mounting at the mounting block and giving him a carrot and getting on and then just going off. Never any issue. Today…. He took his carrot, probably my fault for giving him it a little early and swung his butt out and looked for another walked round the block, yes thinking this was a game 😂 wee @rse. So practically had to launch myself off the block onto him and off we went, so guess what our practice will be during the week! YES!!
Only getting a carrot when mounted! And not before 😂 other than that he was perfect 😍

After our mounting block palava the other day I decided today was a good day to practice on and off etc , well did he not just get it , i just dont think he liked where the block was up the top where it had moved to.

He has taken a growth spurt up and in 😂

I think you need to make the mounting block move around daily so he gets accustomed to it
