Our grazing looks like...

Would you people like some rain from up north? You can happily have some! :) Bella is taking advantage of being grey, and rolling in any muddy patch she can find!
Some of those feilds are awful :(
*Sends rain* ;) :)
there you go, i hope you get it soon :p :)

hi mine too, i have cut my paddock in half, i put fertilser and grass seed (mixed together) scatter on bare field, then i use a long hose and water it daily, its a lot of work but its regrowing.

just looked at our forecast, nothing substantial expected in my particular part of Wilts this week. We aren't as bad off as some of you, not crispy fields, but as i said very dry, never thought I'd miss the rain

Ours is nearly as bad. We have had light rain over the last week or so, but the ground is so dry, it doesn't help much. The field is very vaguely greener though.

I'm sorry to hear that so many of you are in the same boat! If only we could share the rain from up North then perhaps we'd all just be doing perfectly. :(

I hope for rain for all those who need it! I'm living in hope.

Thankfully we are ok too. We have decent sized fields and not a lot of horses and the same fields are grazed all year round to try to keep the grass down. We havent had much rain but showers are forecast this week.
Hope you get rain soon

Mine isnt good either..offering hay as well.....we have had some rain in the last 24hours but not enough fields are still like dust baths...we need loads more little and often!!

Mines not that bad...but not far off. The fatties are fine...mine is being fed twice daily and they come in at night anyway for hay and to rest the field. Mind you...it rained for almost 24 hours yesterday...everyone was moaning except me:D:D

Mine looks much the same!:( Weeds, nettles and thistles doing well but grass..... not a sign. The only decent patch is where the tiny leak in the water trough drips!

After 3 months of lying snow at our place last winter, which was dire, we needed a break!

So dont hate me too much for these photos. Horses havent been moved from their spring paddock as theres just too much grass....:-OOO

Now expecting convoy of hungry horses in trailers heading for Aberdeenshire to munch heads off...

I'll be there by tomorrow!!!!! :p

I've got loads of grass, but neither of my horses are allowed on it! It is getting dried out though, and my garden lawn is yellow. We've had huge rain clouds above since yesterday, but the rain is yet to fall!!

Wow, i didn't realise how bad it was down south, those photos are terrible :(

We're in Lancs (bolton) and our fields are still growing. The horses have just been moved to the second small field as they have grazed the other down, but to be honest they are all a bit fat so could have done with staying on the bare one a bit longer. Hopefully it will grow again so they can move once more before coming in for winter. We are getting just enough rain i think, fields are growing but not enough to churn them up and get muddy. Fingers crossed it stays like this here, and those in need get some soon too.

Ours is awful, we've got no fields that we can rest and after the awful winter the gateways poaching had spread further into the fields. Now there is literally nothing out there, nothing growing. Got a small amount of rain last night and again this morning but still so dusty and dry. We only got 1/3 amount of haylage this year as well, and are on the new hay already.

Thankfully, where I keep my horse (as opposed to where I work) does rest the fields so not looking too bad, and my horse is on the plumper side (despite all my efforts to slim her!) so its okay.

We have had about 3 showers of rain in the last 5 weeks here, so not great. Luckily we do have enough grass for the 2 mares, the gelding has gone on loan to be a companion and he has good grass. Trouble is, Iam worried about our field having enough grass to last the winter cos that part of it hasn't grown much - if at all!
Thankfully it rained last night, have had several showers today so things should improve this week,
Never did I think I'd be asking for rain?! Normally we do the rain-stop dance and wellies are in constant use - I brushed off the cobwebs today!!
