Ovarian pain?

My mare seems to suffer from intense ovarian pain in a 10 day build up to her season.

She hip presses and tries to throw herself up the wall, she makes a horrible groan/cry/squeal.

She has been scanned a number of times and is normal. She is now on regumate and is fine.
 
Quite a bit, my old gelding (who had rig behaviour) was on it and it cost us quite a lot for 10ml a day for 10 days or so
 
With regards to cost of Regumate there is apparently a pig version which is identical to the horse one but much cheaper in price.

Not sure how true that is as have never used either type myself but it may be worth looking in to.
 
I use Porcine regumate, it's a prescription only medice from the vets. I reckon it costs about 60p a day, approx £60 for a 600ml bottle using a 6ml dose, mare is 475 klios approx.

You can get it cheaper if you buy on line but by the time you have paid for the prescription it's not much different.
