Over height Highlands?

They are cracking ponies that go for miles and miles and can carry phenominal weights. Who wouldn't want one?! But to answer your question - riding schools, treking centres and endurance riders.

I would have one. If you are not into showing an 'over height' native matters not and is very appealing for someone who likes the breed but is maybe taller and wants something a little bigger :)

Me, there was a lovely gelding on the HPS website not so long ago, he was
15hh.

I suspect you could get a slightly overheight one to measure in.

Highlands make great allrounders :)

I would love one I think they're awesome but am big and tall! 15hh sounds promising, 15.2 would be even better but maybe pushing it! what's the biggest one you've seen?

there's a 15 hander on horse quest at the moment - looks lovely but thinking about the sheer strength of some of the stockier native breeds - maybe quite some pony!
has anyone ever over-ponied themselves?!:D

I have one who looks likely to be 15 hands. She isnt pure highland, her mum was an over-height connie, but she looks more highland. she is going to be lovely and the ultimate recession horse-hardy, good doer and feet like iron!!!! I have begun her education and she is so clever and willing to please. I bred her for my daughters but they have lost interest in all things horsey.

I will be starting my horse quest in the coming year and I hope to find an oversized Connemara. Fabulous little horses but I'd like something bigger than 14-2 . The height restriction only matters if you show them.

I am a strong advocator of Connemaras! :D Not that I am incredibly biased or anything...
I own a Connie x and he is the most fun thing you will ever ride, he's quick, agile, cheerful and bouncy! Although obviously not when we are out competing, then we have to put up the facade of him being a steady, flashy, big-striding dressage horse haha!
They don't come anymore fun than a cheery Connemara! ;)

I sometimes think I'm over ponied!!
My 13.2hh fell mare is an absolute pocket rocket, rides like a big cob tho and after. Nearly a year together I still jar my knees getting off as I expect to hit the floor later!

Nothing I like better than watching the stallion classes at the Connemara pony show in Clifden. The puissance has been won for the last four? years by Bobby Sparrow Blue. Amazing how high those little chaps can jump. The best of breed colt last year is bred by my nieces in-laws so I'm thinking of asking a few favours :) and of course they're fun..just like the people :D
Ps ..not biased at all ;)
