Does anyone do this? Any issues?
At wits end with short coupled coblet who removes a shoe regularly in the field. Lives out, no hinds shoes and lovely feet.
Clean removal with shoe and hoof looking ready to be reunited. She seems to alternate which one and sometimes misses the shoe and gives herself a nice dent in her heel bulb instead so I don't think it's usually the other front.
I only had her fronts shod because she's a determined paw-er, which combined with roadwork meant she was wearing them down too quickly; no other reason. We have mostly stopped the pawing when I'm there, but she does it at all other times... I'm hoping if she gets more work (could be a whole other thread!) she may learn to conserve her energy and the shoes can be abandoned again; but in the meantime, is permanent O/R boots going to cause other problems?
