Parelli = Horse-Man-Sh*T

''One point I would like to make though.. what she's doing is no different to a few on here who claim the use of "Mr Blue Pipe" for a horse who won't do as it is asked...''

Im not sure the Mr Blue Pipe users would be whacking it into a horses face CC....

If Mr Blue Pipe is anything like Mr Ash Plant - then it would be applied once, appropriately and NOT ON THE BLOODY FACE. Followed by lots of praise when horsey behaves nicely.
Has anyone ever seen Linda PRAISE a horse?

I had a reply from world horse welfare to say that had seen the thread on here but were unable to get the clip to play so could not comment.
Could anyone else email them the clip?
I cant get it to work for me.

This makes me SO ANGRY! We get so many horses in that have been completely ruined by the Parelli method - they're all either petrified of life or so used to their owners being petrified of them that they just walk all over you.
I would LOVE to give her my spotty stallion to try that with, he would kick the living daylights out of her.
Awful awful woman! Also, does it not see, strange to anyone that in order to "progress" in Parelli, owners have to fork out up to £300 a time for the next "stage" in this load of horse poo. Kind people trying to make the world a better place for horses? More like money grabbing people trying to make an easy dollar.
UGH.
(rant over)

Not impressed at all! Having ridden a one eyed horse in my experience they tend to be a little more clingly as they gain more confidence from their handler.
Constantly smacking a horse over the one side of his/her head that is able to see is appalling!
Never had much time for them and really have none now!

Just watched the clip. Clearly it has been edited, but clearly the horse has no idea what is expected of it. I am neither for not against Parelli, but I have to say that if you were using a normal headcoller, lunge line and whip this would be classed as abuse.

My horse backs up when I say 'go back' and there has never been any need to smack his face, wave, yank etc at him

I cannot believe (though I know its true) that they think this is suitable for a level one dvd - surely this would put most people off if they saw it?

Also, whatever happend to working with your horse in a suitable envorinment? Ie a school with a fence and not much in the way of distractions? Fair enough I realise that this can't always be the case but I would make it the case if I had a 'problem' which presumably the owner of this horse did?

Has anyone ever seen Linda PRAISE a horse?

The horse had reward several times in the DVD but its been edited out in the clip

Why do people think that disciplining a horse means you have to lose your temper with it?
You can still discipline a horse whilst staying calm...

I totally agree. Violence isnt needed if you are communicating with a horse in the way it understands. If the horse doesnt understand then its the handlers fault.
Temper/violence/beating/whipping just shows a lack of education and ability of the handler or rider. Unfortunately i read it many times even on here-'The horse is taking the p1ss, give it a hard smack'. When actually the poor horse is either in discomfort or confused.

The horse had reward several times in the DVD but its been edited out in the clip

Irrelevant imo. The horse looked totally confused and linda parelli was using unecessary force on the horses head. It doesnt make it acceptable to do this just because she said good boy every now and again.:(

This is a short careful section of clips from a bigger section. It is viewed out of context and without the supporting materials, and importantly without the conclusion/results section.

Linda Parelli is very smart, and very much aware of how she communicates and is seen as a representative of her organisation. She is not about to be seen beating up a horse or loosing the plot. Too much to lose.

Now I bet I can follow you around with a camera and put together a compilation that looks as if you are roundly abusing your horse - I just need a bit of selective editing...

I totally disagree. It doesn't matter that this was only some clips shown out of context. The fact is the camera never lies - we blatantly see her being anything BUT understanding of horses! If I saw this without knowing it was Linda Parelli, I would have thought the person was simply very ignorant and had no idea how horses worked! I agree she isn't "losing the plot", but its even more worrying that she isn't as it means this is how she ALWAYS does things...

You certainly would not find me doing that c*ap with my horses no matter how much you edited. Parelli is brain-washing Americanized trash - its all "if you don't buy this carrot stick for $100 then you can't possibly understand your horse".

The other video on there of one of her clients doing the same method is pretty dreadful too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=thzc8lPaHaw

that video makes me feel sick. yes i have seen worse abuse- but none stating it helps the horse and encouraging everyone to do it- overpriced abuse:( and linda's response just made it worse- that horse has one eye, no wonder it wants to look around a bit. well done parelli, if you wanted toshow people how to make a horse headshy, scared and untrusting, then you acheived your goal:mad:
