Hi all,

I’m just after some views on part loaning. What number of days would you offer for a part loan and what would you be willing to pay? Facilities include outdoor school, lunge pen and excellent hacking with an indoor school currently being built. There is also a jumping field in the summer. As I have two horses I go to the yard every morning to muck out, turn out and do everything ready for the evening so the person loaning doesn’t usually have to do any stable duties (unless they are in for the day or I am unable to get up in the morning)

The general rate where I am is £10 a day, if the horse is a absolute superstar and competing at a good level I have seen that go up to £20 a day.

Henry's part loaner pays £20 a week for 2-3 days, or unlimited days when I'm at uni (but still works out to be about 3) on a yard with great facilities and no stable duties. This is on the agreement that she's a little flexible on days if I'm around and want to do clinics/competitions/lessons etc. (she still gets at least 2 days, but might not always be able to have a weekend day). We haven't been doing this agreement for long, but everyone seems quite happy with it at the moment...

I was recently looking for a horse to share and would expect to pay £10 per day for 2/3 days a week including a weekend day. The opportunity to compete would be a bonus too.

It also makes a difference what the horse can do... for the £10/day I'd expect it to school, hack out (including alone if there aren't always ppl to ride with), jump a bit. For something green less, for something competing at a high level then either less (becasue then you can choose a better rider) or more (becasue it is good opportunity for not great rider if you see what I mean).
