Ok, so Mr Fips (4yr old percheron) went off the the vets last week to have a full lameness work up, x-rays, nerve blocks the lot. So they couldn't find anything in his legs so they then thought hip as there is definate lameness behind, so to see if he had a mild pelvis fracture they gave him a rectal and pushed on his pelvis from inside! Now is it me or is that a tad barbaric!? Could be just that when I broke my arm they did the "does this hurt?" *poke the broken bone* routine. Of course it f'ing hurt! Imagine if it was broken! Even doped I should think he'd kick the crap out of the vet (Admittedly he did get Martin the vet and send him flying at another point....) Thankfully, or not, it's not broken but they have no idea whats wrong with him so it's 4 months off for him with a question over whether we keep him...
So has anyone else had any experience with pelvis fracture or the examination for them?
