People/horses with pollen allergies - are you suffering yet?

So I popped pony on equimins and have just finished our first tub and I’ve noticed her pollen allergy doesn’t seem to have kicked in yet. No weepy eyes, no head tossing, no scratching her face when she comes in from the field.

Have I stumbled upon the miracle cure or has the cold weather delayed pollen?

Mine is usually bad from late March to October & then only does 1 or 2 slow hacks a week, he's still going like a train & I've put him on new supplements this spring so hoping its that! The pollen has been bad here over that dry period as I've been sneezing & that usually takes a fair bit & he's still having some head shaking days.

Both me and the horse have been suffering for a good month or more. Hopefully it will start to ease off soon as the trees are nearly in full leaf (tree pollen allergies) if yours is more flower/grass pollen the it may well be late due to the cold weather. My guy is also on equimins but the same as always.

Thanks, v interesting. It’s usually tree pollen that sets her off the worst then flower pollen results in much milder symptoms.

I will keep an eye on it. If it has helped that would be fantastic!

Yes B has started to shake his head and cough again but it’s later than usual this year. I use RespirAid which works really well for him but I’ve run out so need to order some more tomorrow.

Trees for me, it was absolutely horrendous about a month ago but has settled now. I think it really depends on the type/species that affects you.

It is normally trees that really gets her! Admittedly I haven’t been riding but she does normally show symptoms just coming in from the field too and I haven’t spotted anything. Mum has hacked her, friend taken her sponsored rides and xc schooling and I haven’t even needed to get her nose net out.

OH suffers with all pollen and every day he’s been extra sniffly I’ve watched pony like a hawk and nothing! I’m trying not to get excited thinking I’ve accidentally cured her.

I haven’t had itchy eyes yet. I was a bit sneezy the other day when it was really windy, whether that was due to pollen or just dust etc I can’t be sure.
I always thought oil seed rape set me off but the fields nearby are full of it so it can’t be that.

Both me and my boy have had itchy runny eyes since the end of March. Seems abit better today after all the rain we had yesterday. I do give him hay fever tablets but if anyone had any ideas of a good horsey supplement I can use then I will give that a go!
