Wears headscarf aggressively
Hello all, it's been a while since I was here
I went cold turkey when I quit competing because it made me sad to know everyone else was out there having fun
Anyway. Thought I'd pop this in here as I *think* some of you can adjust your own Wows or at least might know more about it than me. I've had mine for about 18 months now and am still dead chuffed, mare is going well in it too.
However, she has just developed a little rub at the back of the saddle on the off side - literally in the last week. This time of year she usually gets some baldy patches as her coat gives up - she's got bald neck spots where the reins 'rub' for example.
But the saddle rub is annoying me.
She had her Wow refitted in September and I'm waiting for my fitter to come back to do my original one and a 2nd hand dressage that I picked up in the Autumn. But that's not for another month
I think it's rubbed on one side because she was crooked - physio last weekend found tight neck on the left and behind saddle on the right. So I'm hoping that now she is straighter it won't get any worse. But what can I do to help her along until the fitter comes in March?
FWIW ALL of the saddles I've ever had for her - normal flocked ones, GP, jumping, dressage etc as well as my wow have rubbed bald spots in February, it seems to be inevitable
She has regular physio and is always graded utterly normal for a ridden horse (the crookedness was unusual but had an obvious cause related to moving yards last month
)
I have at my disposal: wintec pad that I'm happy to cut up! Mattes half pad, nuumed numnahs, 2 headplates (fairly sure she's in the right one, and the spare is narrower), a wow pump BUT none of the sealant stuff.
Sorry this is so wordy
Any advice at all? Don't intend this to turn into the pros and cons of Wows, I've got no complaints at all except that it takes so long to get a fitter to come
