Unfortunalty many novices belive any natural horsemanship a cure all. I like IH, really do not like paralli but both are so often done wrong that all "alternative horsemanship" people have quite rightly earned that stereotype. Its up to us all buck this stereotype.

Ah yes but she would not have a clue who I was - and I have bad days with my boys too - but I just know that she would have a far nicer time riding out my TB 6 year old then she would that pony - because it is such a lovely genuine horse ( a friend who had not ridden for 10 years came and rode it the other day and loved it - and it is fit) I would loved to have said to her let swap for an hour or two - then I would have probably been dumped by her pony....!

Has no one ever excepted help from a stranger before? I certainly have and the world will be a sad place when people stop offering it.

I would gladly take up the offer of a lead down the lane if I had a 7 year old taking the micky out of me. All too often people hack past all toffey nosed and really we all need to help each other and stick together.

Cobs may look quiet but the two I have owned were monsters in disguise so don't be fooled by looks alone! Maybe she was a nervous rider (doesn't mean to say she's inexperienced) and was working to get the horse to hack alone. So she may have lost the fight and bottled out but good on her for trying and who are you to judge, we all do things differently, so what! Lots of people have barefoot horses, it doesn't necessarily mean they're into natural horsemanship.

as for the question whats wrong with 'natural' funny thing is the two naughtiest ponies (bad mannered known kickers can't be tied and left etc . . ) on my yard are handled using natural methods.

she too will bring them home from a hack if they 'don't feel like it today' what utter tosh !! (must try that monday morning when iget to work LOL)

there nothing wrong with a little pushing or reprimanding after all how do alpha male/female teach others to respect the 'boss' they lay down the law to those further down the pecking order.
natural horsemanship done by the proper people Monty for example is a pleasure to watch but the average 'new age' owner who gives it a try can do more damage than good.

I'm not anti natural just anti people who haven't a clue ruining horses.

I am training 2 PTP's< I work full-time and have a large family - of course I have to ride and lead! And yes I can smoke a fag, talk to people on my phone and do a fantastic Irish Jig at the same time (not!!)
Oh dear I have never thought of myself as up my own.....But I do love it that I have started a lively post tonight!

Er Parelli is not IH and is not the only alternative horsemanship out there, they just make the loudest noise!

Who the hell is suggesting, that the reason this woman is having problems with her horse, is because of NH????

I have had arguments with old horses and I have never ever practiced NH in my life!

For all you guys know she might have decided to call it a day as she simply didn't feel like arguing with it. She may just know her horse...or maybe just cause she has NH stuff on she's a flaming numpty who can't ride for crap and deserves to be looked down on!!!!!

Look, I know enough about IH/AH thankyou very much. Your words are totally wasted on my because I think it is about the biggest pile of shite going, and pity people who take to it- like this poor woman mentioned in original post, who seems to be struggling with her horse because of it. Said pony needs a kick forwards, not a bloody carrot stick wiggling at it.
