Head above parapet and ready to be shot down but first I’d like spurs banned double bridles at least optional and marks removed for tail swishing and pinned ears. Oh and no more flash nosebands! (Runs for cover!)

Marks are already lost because of tail-swishing, etc., double bridles are already optional for many tests, and spurs are useful IF you know how to use them.

this, and let's also not delude ourselves that the welfare of horses would automatically improve if these artificial aids were banned. Plenty of damage being done without them, and *generally* people only start using them once a certain degree of proficiency has been achieved.
 
If you follow Denny Emerison on Facebook, he posts as Tamarack Farm. I think that's how he spells it. Anyway, he posts some thought provoking things about competing and how it can cloud one's attitude to riding, competing and enjoying the whole process.

And, I trust nothing about PeTA.
